How to make a picture unique. How to make a picture unique - we determine working methods How to make an image unique for search engines

Today, dear readers of the site, we will return again to the topic of unique content, which I recently covered in an article about. Only, now we will not talk about text materials, but about pictures (images that we use when designing articles).

This topic is not noticed by many webmasters, yet it is important for increasing the popularity of a web resource.

I will try to provide information about the pictures as completely as possible, so that your knowledge is not limited to the ability to make unique images from publicly available ones. Let's look at why to uniqueize media materials, how to properly check pictures for uniqueness, and the mistakes made by many authors when choosing a methodology.

In general, the uniqueness of images is on a par with texts - the original has a better chance of getting into the TOP than a copy. There are exceptions related to behavioral factors, but in general, sites with unique materials are ranked higher.

In order for the Yandex and Google algorithms to show maximum favor, it is necessary to create something new.

In terms of promotion, pictures have two directions:

  1. Inserting images inside text content - here the presence of unique pictures is desirable, but is not the main ranking factor (the main thing), but all other things being equal, it will give your page a small plus in the eyes of search engines.
  2. Attracting traffic through the Yandex Images and Google Images services - only the original rules here, all copies found on the Internet will give their owners absolutely nothing useful.

Thus, all that remains is to either create initially original images using drawing, photography, or, as I do, using screenshots (I wrote how to take a screenshot on a computer)

How to check a picture for uniqueness

There are several ways to identify duplicate images. Each of them is based on an online method - this is logical, because we are looking for matches on the Internet.

The service tineye.com is often mentioned. Personally, I have seen more than a dozen blogs where webmasters talk about it. If you want, you can use it, but there is no particular practical sense in this, now I’ll tell you why.

You and I want the image to be unique from the point of view of search engines. So, the tineye service knows no more about search algorithms than any experienced webmaster, i.e. only in general terms.

In order to know for sure whether an image will be considered unique from the point of view of Yandex or Google, you need to know EXACTLY how pictures are recognized, how each pixel is scanned. Only the search engines themselves can do this and they have such tools. The question is, why look for some other methods - we use Yandex Images and Google Images.

Checking a picture for uniqueness in Yandex

Open https://yandex.ru/images/

At the top right, we find an icon depicting a camera. When you hover over it, the “Search by image” hint will pop up.

Next, you will have a choice between uploading the image to be checked from your computer (you can drag it into the appropriate field or select it in the folder with Explorer) and specifying the URL of the image if it is on the Internet.

Selecting an image will automatically start a search for it in the Yandex database; when inserting a link, you will need to click on “Find”. If an image is found somewhere, then all its possible sizes will be shown next to it in the form of links leading to sites. Here is an example of an image from my blog that Yandex already knows about.

Otherwise, the message that “no similar images were found” will be displayed. Now, if not found, then the image is considered unique from the point of view of the Yandex search engine. For example, the illustration for my last article has not yet entered the Yandex index:

Below the main information are options for images that are rated as similar. Similarity here is understood in a very broad sense. In reality, there may be completely different options that have only a couple of similar colors or lines with the original.

Checking an image for uniqueness in Google

Open https://images.google.ru/

By analogy, we look for the camera icon with the hint “search by image”; here it is in the search bar field.

As in Yandex, it is possible to upload the image being checked from a computer or take it from a website (switching tabs selects the mode).

The search result will be divided into copies of the image found on the Internet and variant images that Google algorithms considered to be vaguely reminiscent of the original one. The degree of similarity here is also a very broad concept, therefore, similar ones are not considered copies.

So, if, when checking in both search engines, you were not shown exact matches, you can consider your picture unique and not worry that it will be perceived as plagiarism.

It is not always necessary to analyze in each of the services; for example, I optimize my sites only for Yandex, therefore, I check only in it.

Now let's move on directly to creating original images from non-original ones, let's start with myths.

Methods that do not increase uniqueness

There are a number of techniques that site owners use in order to somehow influence the degree of originality of their images. Some of these techniques work, but a significant portion are absolutely useless. Everything would be fine, but non-working methods are widespread and are transmitted from one webmaster to another.

There is no harm from this, but there is no benefit either, so why waste your time.

So, actions that do not lead to increased uniqueness:

  1. Changing the name of an image file - when searching for copies, the internal contents of the files (the displayed part of the image) are analyzed; the name is in no way connected with the internals, therefore, it is ignored.
  2. Changing the extension (file type) - by analogy with the previous point, only what users see in their browser windows is evaluated, and whether it is jpg, png or gif is completely unimportant, 3 files of different extensions, but with the same picture, will be recognized as copies.
  3. Adding watermarks or other small elements - such manipulations do not change the overall structure of the image, and the algorithms perceive them as they should - as copies.
  4. Overlaying frames (simple, complex, with inscriptions) is the same as the previous option. The search engine will only perceive the main part of the image; the frames will not be counted.
  5. Several images on one sheet - such a file will be recognized as a copy of each of the original drawings.
  6. Cutting out part of the image won't work either.
  7. Compression/stretching horizontally and vertically - the structure of the picture in this case does not change, only the proportions change, which is not perceived as unique.
  8. Changing colors or switching to black and white is an absolutely useless technique for increasing uniqueness.

I think that over time, the number of non-working techniques will increase due to the growth of the “smartness” of search engines.

How to make a unique picture for a website

We’ve discussed what doesn’t work, let’s move on to the most interesting part – what works?

I’ll say right away that each specific technique does not guarantee that you will get a unique image, since this factor is influenced not only by the source image and search algorithms, but also by the human factor of the webmaster. It is likely that someone used your technique earlier and the picture will become a copy not of the basic version, but of this unique copy created by someone - you will get a copy of a copy.

Therefore, sometimes you have to apply a whole set of measures with different parameters to an illustration before Yandex Images issues a verdict that “no similar pictures were found” - this, by the way, is the best option - to apply many filters at the same time.

Images that are widely distributed on the Internet can most often be made unique only by a combination of several methods.

The general rule of all effective uniqueization techniques is a significant change in the structure (lattice) of the image, leading to changes in the horizontal and vertical lines of pixels.

Making natural images (photos) unique is much more difficult than drawings. You'll have to work hard with them.

Some simple effects discussed below are available in any graphic editor (even standard paint); for others, I recommend using Photoshop. In general, Photoshop has a lot of possibilities for transformations.

1. Reflect horizontally or vertically

The simplest and most common method used by webmasters is also the least effective. The efficiency is low due to the fact that almost every picture on the Internet has already been reflected by someone and we will simply repeat the same procedure. I recommend using reflection in conjunction with the other methods described below, then it will be more effective.

As can be seen from this example, the number of copies after horizontal reflection was reduced by an order of magnitude. It is logical to take the reflected version for further processing, and not the original.

2. Rotate the image by a certain degree

It is impossible to give an exact figure for the optimal rotation, but in my experience figures from 6 to 84 degrees work well. Search engines compare less than 6 with the original.

It is rare to use a large angle, as it makes images unnatural, but 6-9 degrees have almost no effect on human perception. Although, a good way is to make something like a collage out of several photos, then you can tilt it at large angles.

3. Twisting and stretching different points

Remember how glassblowers change the shape of products when they are heated - they take and stretch them at different points, twist or inflate them. All this leads to smooth changes in shape; the original appearance can change significantly. The effect in Photoshop is called warp. Everything is implemented roughly like this:

This method brings wonderful results, but it cannot be applied everywhere and not always. An example with a hand-drawn pumpkin is exactly the case when you can and should use deformation:

4. Changing proportions

By itself, it rarely leads to 100% uniqueness, but it allows you to “achieve” the results described above. I recommend using it in combination with others.

We change the aspect ratio, as a result, either the horizontal or vertical lines of the base version change. In Photoshop, this form of transformation is called perspective - one side seems to go into the distance. Geometrically, you make a trapezoid from a rectangle.

As in the case of rotation, you can make adjustments by a small amount, then the overall perception for people will remain unchanged.

If we had applied a separate perspective or a separate rotation of 12 degrees, then Yandex Images would have found us several copies, but together we had the maximum result.

Conclusion

As you may have noticed, using one method does not always give the desired result. I specifically took as an example a very popular picture, which has tens of thousands of copies online, to show that any image can be processed to a result if you set a goal.

How to make a picture for a website.

How to quickly make a beautiful and unique picture for a website or blog. Greetings, dear readers of the Cool Internet site, today I propose to talk about how to quickly and most importantly simply make a beautiful and, of course, unique picture for your blog, website or group on a social network.

Moreover, you will not be required to have any special skills, and you will also not have to spend a long time and tediously studying a specialized program for image processing such as Photoshop, Coral and similar photo editors. To be more precise, we will not only touch upon the usual Photoshop, but let’s say a stripped-down version of Photoshop Online that is most suitable for us.

Why making a picture is more convenient and easier in Photoshop Online.

Agree for those who run their own blog, work on a website or develop a group on a social network. The most important thing is to give your readers interesting material, and interesting material should be designed accordingly, that is, have a beautiful and memorable picture. Here the question arises: how to do it? Of course, you can master, for example, Photoshop or another graphic editor, but this takes time, and you actually need to purchase the program itself, well, if, of course, you are a law-abiding citizen who respects copyrights and does not use pirated software. But by and large, the point here is not even in the programs themselves for purchasing them and the time spent on mastering them. We need what? Just a beautiful picture for a post, and in some cases there is no point in delving into the intricacies and intricacies of standard Photoshop, unless of course you have plans to understand it on a semi-professional or professional level. Photoshop Online has, although reduced, quite sufficient functionality for our tasks - to easily and quickly create a picture for a website or blog.

How to make a picture in Photoshop Online.

And so we move on to creating the picture itself. We find Photoshop Onliane in the browser search engine or follow the link How to make a picture for a website in Photoshop Online. Open the file tab and click create a new drawing. A window will appear in which you need to set the dimensions of our image. I will make a picture for my website on the pages of which you are now. And the very first image will be a thumbnail for the post that you saw at the very beginning of the article. In order for the picture to look normal, I need to set its size to width 1000 by 250 height. You, of course, set the dimensions that you need, depending on where you then insert the finished picture.

A working window for creating a picture will open. To make the picture for the post more interesting, you need some image that matches the topic of your article. I will take as an example, for example, an image of an artist. The image can be downloaded from the Internet, for example from Yandex pictures.

Some may say that then the image will not be unique. No, this is not so, as a result of our actions we will get a unique picture, we will return to this issue a little later.

So, for example, we save the image we like on the desktop. Now go to the layer tab and find the sub-item open image as layer

Now an image has appeared in our workspace. There is one point, make sure that the dimensions of the added image correspond to the size of your future picture. For example, my dimensions are 1000 by 250, which means that the image that I insert should be approximately 200 by 200 so that it does not go beyond the frame or is not too small.

On the left side of the toolbar we find the move arrow (top line, rightmost button with an arrow). With its help, you can drag the image to the desired place in our future picture. Using the same principle, let's add another image, for example, a palette with brushes. Sub-clause open image as layer Find our saved image and click open.

Now you need to add some inscription. I'll add how make a picture for the website Well, what about something relevant to the topic of your post. Find on the toolbar the button with the letter “ A» choose the font you like and its size and write the inscription.

That's it, our picture is ready, all that remains is to click save file and specify the storage location.

Agree, it couldn’t be easier; in a few seconds we very simply made a beautiful and most importantly unique picture, which we can now post on a blog or in a group.

Now let's talk a little about the uniqueness of the pictures. Search engines understand perfectly well that when you have used a picture already posted by someone on the Internet, those involved in website promotion know that this is not good and may not affect the position of the article in which such non-original images are posted. What we get is a unique picture due to the fact that we worked in an editor and there will be no complaints from search engines, even though we partially took fragments already available on the Internet. There are various services for checking the uniqueness of pictures and photos, but this is a topic for another article.

How do most bloggers choose illustrations for posts? That's right, they are looking for the cutest picture in Yandex or Google! I admit, I’m a sinner too! But as a result, sites are filled with tons of non-unique photographs and drawings. And goodbye to a lot of traffic from image search!

You and I, dear readers, will be more cunning. Now I’ll tell you a little secret that I learned not long ago. In this article, I will teach you how to evaluate the uniqueness of any photo and show you how quickly and easily you can create a completely unique image.

Why do you need unique images on your website?

The first obvious benefit is additional search traffic. Unique illustrations for the article + proper optimization = stable traffic to the site from image search. Non-unique images may not be indexed at all.

Unique images also help improve the site’s relevance in search engine results. I am sure that search engines take into account the uniqueness of illustrations when ranking. Sites with unique photos, all other things being equal, will be ranked higher than sites with copied photo content.

How to make a picture unique? First, find a photo that does not have a large number of copies on the Internet, ideally no more than 100 copies. If a picture has 1000 or more copies, then no matter how you look at it, it won’t be possible to make it unique.

Searching for pictures in Yandex or Google search using the main search query of the post and downloading the first more or less suitable picture is the easiest, but not the best way. Everyone does this, which means the resulting images already have many copies, and the idea of turning them into unique images is something out of science fiction. You can, of course, do a lot of magic on them in Photoshop, change them beyond recognition with filters and gradients and get a masterpiece that is already in the category of creepy science fiction. We will not do this to you.

Where to look for images with a minimum number of copies?

For example, you found this picture.

Check how many copies of this picture are already on the Internet.

How to check a picture for uniqueness?

Check the uniqueness directly in Yandex and Google - after all, it is these main search engines that we focus on in the first place.

You can safely discard other online services like tineye.com; their data is sometimes very different from the real picture. Such a service may claim that the image is absolutely unique, but Google will find 40 copies. And then try and prove to Google that the picture is one and only.

Check the photo in Yandex. Go to image search and click a special button with a pop-up hint “Search by image”

Click "select file". Select the desired photo from your computer. Click the "open" button.

If Yandex found only one copy, and just in the group in which you downloaded it, then you are on the right track. But even one copy still makes the picture not unique.

Check the uniqueness of the image on Google as well. Upload an image and see how many copies this search engine found.

So, if you have found few copies, all that remains is to turn the picture into a completely unique image.

How to make a picture unique?

You will need Photoshop or any other image editing program. If you do not have Photoshop installed on your computer, you can use the online service.

Load the image into Photoshop. Resize it. It's best to use a large photo so you can make it smaller. You won't be able to enlarge a small photo without losing quality.

To reduce the size, select “Images” -> “Image Size”. Specify a width of about 350-400 px. The height will decrease proportionally. Click "ok".

Now rotate the images horizontally. Select Edit -> Transform -> Flip Horizontal. This trick will immediately significantly reduce the number of copies on the Internet; if no one has ever done such an operation with this picture, then it will completely turn into unique.

However, this method has one significant drawback. The letters or numbers in the image will turn into a funny combination. Therefore, it is better to download images that do not contain captions.

The mirror image can already be checked for uniqueness. But you can perform one more trick, thanks to which the picture will be 100% unique.

In Photoshop, select Edit -> Transform -> Rotate. Make a slight rotation of the image in any direction. Of course, if you rotate it many, many degrees, the picture will be greatly distorted. But after a slight rotation, the picture will be both unique and attractive.

What else can you do with a picture? If you want, trim the edges, change the color, add a shadow, change the brightness, add a frame. Then there will definitely be no copies left.

After editing the image, you need to check it again for uniqueness in Yandex and Google.

As you can see, it’s very easy to turn an unpopular image without text into a unique one. The whole procedure may seem complicated to you when reading the post, but if you practice a little, you will cope with these steps very quickly.

How else can you get unique pictures?

Take a screenshot of a not-so-popular image

Of course, a screenshot of the Google logo will not turn into a unique image. But, let’s say, a screenshot of the program code given as an illustration in an article about editing Joomla plugins will be an excellent unique picture.

Take a screenshot of the video

Load the screenshot into Photoshop, trim off the excess edges, and reduce the size. Save the resulting image on your computer.

If no one has thought of doing such a trick before you, then you will have a completely unique picture.

I hope you find all these tips useful. Good luck with your image experiments!

Unique content? Stock images are an important decision - How to create a unique image during these difficult times. Many people understand that the Internet almost entirely contains copies of this or that document. Regarding articles, now the complexity of writing has increased noticeably. You have to be very sophisticated when creating unique material.

But what to do with images? How to make a fairly unique picture for the material, and also unique. Let's look at these questions and their possible solutions.

The content of the article:

How I came to create unique images for the site

After receiving the search engine filter and successfully exiting it. I am still working on improving the external and internal appearance of the site. It's like a child who needs to be constantly dressed, taught and monitored at work. Many regular readers have noticed drastic changes in the design, or rather its complete replacement.

Unique visual content - Why? Free stock images of optimal problem solving

I will fully support those who will judge me on this matter. Yes, indeed, stock images are not unique and have been downloaded a million times. But you must admit, this is better than stealing from other sites. This is not acceptable, so it is better to use available free images with a free license for use. Thank God there are plenty of them on the Internet, use them as you please.

The important thing to understand is exactly what you can do with these images. We live in a time when you can make candies and all sorts of pee-pee. Just take the time and the result will be much better than the original.

How to make unique pictures with your own hands from stock ones without Photoshop

Guys, don’t think bad, at the end of the article I will describe a couple of resources that I use. Free images are not unique, but many of them come with a free license. This also applies to commercial use, so you can safely do whatever you want with them. How to make a unique image, basic techniques:

  • It is enough to rotate 30-60 degrees and change the size.
  • Rename the file name.
  • Apply color correction, enhance certain colors.
  • It is enough to place other elements corresponding to its theme on the picture itself.
  • Combining several images into one single image using additional elements.
  • Adding text in different formats.
  • Change of internal attributes.

These are the basic steps that will make your image unique. You can use them in any editor, but I recommend taking your time. Read the article to the end.

What do I use to create media content for the site?

Honestly, I don't just use free stock images. The specifics of the site involve the creation of information screenshots. Therefore, I resort to these projects only for additional thematic visualization of article titles. This, in my opinion, dilutes the dull narrow focus of the site. Now in order:

Where can I download?

  • I make the main images for articles myself.
  • The rest to create more unique ones, I download from an excellent stock Pixabay, where you can find a huge variety of free stock images. Absolutely any formats and topics.

How to do it?

The process of creating a beautiful image takes place in a free online editor Canva.com. I do not recommend it for advertising purposes, it really is the best full-featured solution. There are a huge number of additional elements to insert. Sets with various stripes, frames, badges, backgrounds, icons.

The work area is incredibly easy to use and has a wide variety of fonts. The ability to upload your work, then create templates indicating the necessary permissions. All you need to do is move elements, change sizes, rotate or change colors. Then download the finished work in png format; after downloading, your project is automatically saved. It is very comfortable.

My actions:

  • First, I download the necessary images from Pixabay.
  • I upload the downloaded and my images to Canva.com.
  • I definitely include fantasy, humor and a little bit of both lobes of the brain.
  • The workflow takes place in three browser windows as I create different formats: two main images to identify the article. One big one, published in the feed and at the beginning of the article. The second is small for inserting into the desired section. The following are for filling out the text: Under each individual heading, it is important to match the topic. And modified screenshots to clarify the topic.
  • I first made a transparent frame for all the headings. All these works can be seen in the articles.
  • After that, I compose compositions using additional elements.
  • Finally, I arrange the frame blank (frame) - where the logo and name of the site are placed. The frame is created in advance and the transparency and desired color are adjusted.
  • The last step is to download the finished pictures, sign and post them on the site.

If you take several images from the Internet, somehow combine them, make your own inscriptions, change the size, etc.

The resulting image will be completely different from the downloaded ones, but not for search engines, which easily recognize the color code of the image.

Even if the color of the picture is different, this does not mean that it will be unique.

Therefore, we can conclude that according to search engines, uniqueness should be considered from two points of view:

  1. Uniqueness in terms of uniqueness.

This could be a portrait photo you just took, or a landscape photo.

  1. Unique from the point of view of search engines.

In this case, you can somehow redesign the picture, add something, make a frame for it, and the like.

In addition to uniqueness, it is important that the image for the site is properly optimized. You can see how to optimize an image for a website.

But simple changes will not work. To make a picture 100% unique, more radical changes are needed.

Checking an image for uniqueness on the TinEye service

You can check the uniqueness of a picture on the popular TinEye service.

The verification process is very simple.

You need to upload an image from your computer by drag-and-drop or from a website - specify the URL, and receive the verification results in the form of the number of similar images.

Checking an Image in Google Images

Another way to check is to upload a picture to a special Google service, which has the ability to search for images. It's called Google Images and is located at images.google.ru.

They may contain images of different sizes and colors. That is, in this case we see that the picture is not unique.

How to make a picture unique

There are a lot of ways to make a picture unique, but there are few effective ones.

These are methods in which the picture itself and its position in space radically change.

These include various rotations, changing the display of the picture horizontally and vertically. As well as changing the size of the picture.

If the picture is quite popular, then, in particular, changing the size often will not work to make it unique.

In most cases, various text overlays, or placing a picture inside another, using a frame, and other techniques also do not work.

More radical methods that can be used to make a picture unique are the following:

  1. Change horizontally. To change the horizontal display of the image, you can use Photoshop. Or almost any other graphic editor, for example, where this function exists.

Then the picture can be checked for uniqueness again in the TinEye service, or in Google Images.

But you must keep in mind that the method of changing the display of an image horizontally or vertically will only work if no one has applied it to this image before you.

Another condition for using the method is that the new display of the picture should not harm its readability.

If the picture does not convey the essence and looks wrong, then this method simply cannot be used. In this case, as an example, the license plate on the car turned out to be upside down.

2. Rotate the picture. Another way to make a picture unique is to rotate it. It can also be done in a graphics program such as IrfanView. Rotate the image to an arbitrary angle and save.

Checking shows that in this case the picture is unique. The main thing here is to determine the desired angle of rotation.

If, for example, you change the rotation angle a little, then you won’t be able to make the picture unique.

In conclusion, it’s worth saying that there won’t be much harm from non-unique images. But if you still make the pictures unique, then you can really get additional traffic to the site from search engines.
