How to cut from microsims we apply. How to cut a SIM card for Micro or Nano? Cut a SIM card using a special device in the salon

Time does not stand still, especially in the world of electronics. And you won’t surprise anyone with a micro prefix... now it’s up to nano technologies

Now many operators are selling new nano standard SIM cards, or rather three in one - standard, micro and nano.

But often the problem arises of replacing your old SIM or micro-SIM with an Apply one, and running to a communication store for a new Apply one is not entirely convenient.

But it’s expensive to buy a device for cutting Cutter just once.

This is where the next one comes in handy instructions for cutting out a nano SIM card.

We have already talked about how to turn a standard SIM card into a MicroSIM on our website in how to make a microsim. Today we will talk about how to do nano sim map.
To do this you will need the following:
standard or MicroSIM card;
Printer;
A4 sheet of paper;
double-sided tape or glue;
pencil;
ruler;
scissors;
sandpaper.

Once everything is ready, take the next steps.
Print on the printer a template for cutting in . It must be printed on an A4 sheet at 100% scale. It is not at all necessary to use a color printer to print. Any black and white will do.

After the template is printed glue with glue or double-sided thin tape SIM-card into the appropriate template. If you are cutting a standard SIM card, then it will be a medium template MiniSIM (2FF) to NanoSIM (4FF). If a MicroSIM card is to be cut, it must be secured in the lower template with the inscription MicroSIM (3FF) to NanoSIM (4FF). The cut corner of the SIM card will allow you not to make a mistake and position it in the only correct way.
Wait a while for the glue to dry and draw lines according to the template along which the card will be cut. As a writing medium, you can use a thin simple pencil or marker.
Separate the glued card from the template and use scissors (preferably thin, manicure ones) to carefully cut the SIM card along marked lines.

When cutting a regular SIM card, it will have to be cut on contact plates. This is not the case It's OK, and this will not affect the functionality of the card, since the chip itself occupies a significantly smaller area and will not be damaged. In case of reduction, there is no need to cut the contact plates, since the cutting lines will pass close to their limits.
This is what all three card sizes look like: MiniSIM, MicroSIM and NanoSIM.

Slightly round the formed right angles using sandpaper or trim them carefully with scissors.
According to the specifications type of cards NanoSIM is thinner SIM cards of other types by 0.09 mm. In practice, this difference is almost unnoticeable. But if you encounter the fact that a cropped SIM card fits tight into the slot on the phone, you can try to remove the extra microns using the same sandpaper.
Please note that when cutting a SIM card, there is always a risk of getting a non-working SIM card from a working SIM card. Therefore, if it is unacceptable for you to remain without communication for a while, then it is better not to carry out such an operation.
But in general, everything goes quite successfully and making a nano SIM card is very easy.

By spending a few minutes of time, you will become the owner of a smartphone that works online without visiting your telecom operator.

Computer malware is one of the most annoying things that can happen to your PC. But you need to know the enemy by sight, so today we will talk about the Win32.malware.gen virus - an infection that belongs to Trojan horses. In this article we will try to fully understand Win32.malware.gen, what kind of infection it is, how it gets into the computer and how it can be dangerous. We’ll also figure out how to remove it so that it no longer bothers you.

Win32.malware.gen - what is it?

Win32.malware.gen is a malicious computer infection. Essentially, a virus is a Trojan horse. It has some similar characteristics to other infections, so it can easily be classified as a Trojan horse. A typical feature that unites all “Trojans” is that it can cause troubles that are associated at the same time with both the operation of a PC or laptop and the personal information of the computer user. What is also very dangerous about Trojan horses is that their presence often goes unnoticed by the user if he does not constantly scan with an antivirus program. And, acting unnoticed, it can cause harm to the computer, disrupt the entire system, merge files, and in every possible way harm the computer and you.

What are Trojan horses?

Trojan horses are a common name for a variety of viruses that enter your computer undetected through some other program or through other routes. The infection got this name because in order to penetrate your computer, they use dishonest and malicious techniques. Often this is the use of weaknesses and so-called holes in the armor of your security program on your computer or through a weak point in the operating system as a whole.

In order to better understand the topic of computer viruses, we advise you to read our article on how viruses become infected. This will help you avoid many problems with your computer in the future.

Basically, gaps appear when the user does not go through the process of updating programs to protect the computer or uses pirated versions of antivirus programs, which are a priori weaker than regular ones.

In addition to the fact that Trojan horses use gaps to penetrate the system, they also often penetrate the computer along with programs and applications that you download on the Internet unofficially - from chat rooms, torrents and other unreliable resources. However, even if you don’t download anything and update your licensed protection system on time, the infection can penetrate your computer in the form of an automatic download of a link on an untrusted site, which is activated when you visit it. Also, a link to download a malicious program is often sent by mail in the form of spam, and many users unknowingly click on it and download a dangerous virus to their PC or laptop. Also, a friend may simply bring it to you on a flash drive, without even knowing it. That's why you should always run an antivirus scan on any unfamiliar recording device before opening it.

Attackers are very creative in how to “slip” a malicious program onto you, so as not to download Win32.malware.gen onto your computer and accidentally transfer it to another person.

Why is the infection harmful?

The peculiarity of the malicious work of Trojan horses is that they do not begin to act immediately after downloading. Therefore, the user may not be aware of a virus infection for a very long time if he does not conduct a thorough and timely scan of all computer systems using an antivirus program.

Immediately after the Trojan horse has been downloaded to your computer, it sends a signal via the Internet to a remote server and receives instructions from it about what information it needs to collect at that moment. In addition, it seems to open the door for other viruses and infections on your computer, so most often the Trojan horse, when checked, turns out to be not the only virus. With him they find about five more people whom he “let” into the system.

It is very dangerous that Win32.malware.gen can bring with it viruses that are not yet familiar to your security system and which it cannot get rid of.

What problems does Win32.malware.gen create?

Despite the fact that the user may not even be aware that his computer is infected with a dangerous computer virus, a Trojan horse can work unnoticed by the user and in the background greatly harm the normal operation of the computer. This secretive method of operation was invented specifically so that hackers could obtain information from an infected computer and use credit card and payment data, collect personal information from documents, find out passwords for websites and email, as well as confidential information.

In addition, if you store online currency on your computer, such a virus can steal it from you and transfer it to attackers. Sometimes hackers can use infections to monitor everything the user does on the computer using programs such as Keylogger. Criminals thus obtain all information and any data. Even those that you try to protect especially carefully. A Trojan virus can even turn your computer into one of the devices with which hackers carry out their criminal plans.

Additionally, if you have Win32.malware.gen on your computer, then certain information from your computer may already have been stolen or altered. So, you can determine that there are viruses on your computer based on indirect signs. These include:

  1. If you notice that there are changes to entries in the computer's registry.
  2. If you notice constant problems in the operation of the device, but at the same time everything is fine with the hardware itself.
  3. If you can't run some programs or open files. This is especially true for licensed programs.
  4. If the programs you use most often suddenly stop responding, constantly crash, and the entries you made there disappear from the program memory.
  5. If your antivirus program does not work, it stops normally analyzing the state of the computer.
  6. If you cannot access the Internet or the Internet connection is no longer stable and fast. Even if you have a good package, you will not be able to download something due to low speed or upload a video on the hosting.
  7. A virus may prevent you from accessing some websites.

If your computer is already infected with this virus, it will greatly ruin your life and can cause real harm. Even if the hacker does not steal your card data or collect personal information, a Trojan horse can still lead to serious disruptions in work, even lead to the death of the computer, or simply erase from the computer all the information that was contained there. Even from drive D.

How to remove Win32.malware.gen?

If, using an antivirus scan, you discover that you have a virus on your computer and it is Win32.malware.gen, then it must be removed correctly and quickly enough in order to minimize the damage it causes. A truly malicious computer attacker.

If you just suspect that you have a Trojan horse on your computer that is corrupting your files and preventing you from working, then check with an antivirus. There are many free, licensed programs that can help you detect malicious files. So if you haven’t installed an antivirus program for yourself, do it as soon as possible.

The best way to remove a malicious file is to do it through the antivirus program you used to find it. The program often offers to disinfect an infected file, but we advise you not to do this, as the treatment may be ineffective. As a result of this, the antivirus program will think that everything is fine on your computer and the file has been disinfected, but in fact there will be a Trojan operating there. So it is better to delete all files that the program has identified as infected.

Remember that if it is a Trojan horse, then there may be a lot of infected files, so delete everything without regret - this is the only way to completely protect yourself from the virus and minimize the damage.

If you still don’t have a good and reliable antivirus program, we recommend installing it as soon as possible. Our article entitled “The best antivirus for Windows 10” will help you decide what to install on your computer, where this topic is discussed in detail.

In the future, you should avoid downloading files from unfamiliar sites. Also, do not click on unfamiliar or suspicious links that are sent to you by mail or on social networks. In addition, you need to install a good and reliable licensed antivirus program. And be responsible for carrying out constant checks and promptly disinfecting or deleting files that, in the opinion of the antivirus program, are malicious or dangerous.

conclusions

As it became clear from this article, Win32.malware.gen is a very dangerous Trojan horse that can not only harm the operation of your computer, but also harm you, because the virus can leak personal photos and folders, payment data, and mailbox passwords into the hands of ill-wishers and credit cards, your hospital card and so on. Therefore, we advise you to do everything to prevent the virus from entering your computer: install a good, reliable antivirus program and scan for viruses once a week or at least every two weeks. Also, the usual rules of “network hygiene” will not hurt - do not click on suspicious links that are sent to you by mail or on social networks, do not download programs from unverified resources, use torrents less and do not look for dubious information.

If you do encounter such a problem, then, hopefully, thanks to our advice, you quickly deleted the harmful file and your computer did not have time to suffer much from the actions of the Trojan horse.

Share in the comments below this article whether you managed to cope with Win32.malware.gen and tell us about methods of detecting, protecting against the virus and removing it, which were not discussed in the article. Other users will find this information useful.

The iPhone does not use regular SIM cards, but smaller ones - micro-SIM and nano-SIM. For what? For a very simple reason - Apple and other developers do this to save space, and therefore to reduce the thickness of the device. And if you want to have a thin gadget, you will have to reduce the size of the standard SIM card. It may seem complicated, but it's actually not that bad. In order to cut a SIM card for Micro SIM and Nano SIM, you need to contact a special center or do it yourself. Now we’ll find out what you can do on your own if you have such a problem.

There are several options:

  1. Order a new card at your mobile operator's mobile phone store. This is a good option, but it takes time and effort to get there and place an order. The advantage is that you don’t need to trim anything, and it will be free. The downside is that this is time and there may be a queue at the mobile phone store.
  2. When you buy a new phone, the sales assistant can cut your SIM card with a special tool, but this service may be paid. And even then, this is provided that you buy in an offline store, but what if in an online store? Have questions. You can buy a card cutting tool yourself, but is it worth it? Maybe there is another option? Yes, and I hope you like it!
  3. Independent sim card cutting hill. You can save time and money if you cut your SIM card yourself to fit a micro-SIM card or a nano-SIM card - the one you need. How to do it?

Micro-SIM is one of the types of SIM cards, which has reduced dimensions compared to a regular one: 15 × 12 × 0.76 mm. How to make a Micro SIM card?

  1. Take a pencil and a ruler and measure 12 millimeters by 15 on your SIM card. It is better to turn the card with the contacts towards you. If you are afraid of incorrectly drawing the outline along which you need to cut, then it is better to print out the template and cut according to it.
  2. Take sharp scissors - preferably small, manicure scissors - or a knife and cut out a micro-SIM card along the drawn contour.
  3. If there is excess left, you can carefully remove the remaining plastic with sandpaper or, if you don’t have one, use a nail file.
  4. Your Micro-SIM is ready. Insert it into your gadget and use it.

But what if you don't want a micro-SIM, but a nano-SIM? How do they differ and how to get a card of the right size?

Nano SIM is one of the types of SIM cards with the smallest dimensions: 12.3 × 8.8 × 0.67 mm. It began to be used quite recently, for the first time - in 2012 in the iPhone 5. The nano-SIM is the size of the chip, which makes the cutting process a little more difficult - there is a risk of damaging the contacts. How to make a SIM card for Nano SIM?

  1. Better download and print the template. It's easier to cut through.
  2. If you do not have this opportunity, then take a pencil and use a ruler to draw a contour of 12.3 millimeters by 8.8. It will be almost a chip.
  3. Trim off the excess with sharp scissors and file the edges without touching the chip itself, otherwise it can be damaged.

A nano-SIM can be cut not only from a SIM card, but also from a micro-SIM card, because it is smaller than them - the nano-SIM is the smallest in size. You can download and cut.

If you are afraid that you will cut out a micro or nano SIM card, and then you will need a larger SIM card, then do not worry - in this case, you buy an adapter that serves as a kind of adapter, and there is no need to buy a new SIM card and use it as regular or re-cut for a micro-SIM card.

For which phones do you need to cut the SIM card?

The micro-sim is designed for iPhone 4/4, and the nano-sim is used in iPhones starting from 5/5s, i.e. iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone Xr, iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max.

So, we found out that the SIM card can be cut both in the communication store or store where you buy the phone, and at home, which will help you save time and money. Which option to choose is up to you. If you are afraid to cut out the card you need, then for courage you can watch a video on how to make it, how to get it, or how to cut it out. Then everything will definitely work out for you.

In our crazy age of technology development, it often happens that manufacturers do not keep up with progress. This is what happened in the field of cellular communications.

Small slot - large SIM card

And the following happened: mobile operators (both the Big Three operators and

everyone else) did not have time to prepare for the release of the new version of IPhone 5, which works with nano-SIM. You can easily find SIM cards from any telecom operator in numerous showrooms and stores, but they will all be standard. What to do in such a situation? Of course, don't despair. Easy enough to do

Since this problem is not new, there are a lot of instructions on how to do it yourself. This will take no more than 10 minutes, even if you are doing these manipulations for the first time.

How to properly cut a SIM card

In order to make a nano-SIM with your own hands, you will need: scissors, a pen

or marker, standard SIM card of the selected operator.

There is no need to look for a nano-SIM template, since the conversion procedure is simply simple.

We take the SIM card and turn it over with the chip facing up. Next, take scissors and cut off all the excess that extends beyond the chip. Don't be afraid - even if the SIM card itself is damaged, you can easily restore it at your operator's office or buy a new one at any mobile phone store.

You should cut it carefully, try not to touch the chip itself or damage its contacts, otherwise the SIM card will not work.

Don't forget to mark on the back side with a pen or marker which corner is beveled. If you skip this step, you risk getting a broken nano sim. It’s quite easy to turn a regular card into a nano card with your own hands. The main thing is to follow several points.

Another feature of nano-SIM is that you can make it yourself, but you will have to work a little with a needle file or a regular nail file. This is because a nano card is slightly thinner than a regular card, meaning your cropped version may not fit in the card tray. Don't worry, everything grinds off quite easily and quickly.

The difference between a nano-sim and a micro-sim

In order to save space in your smartphone and use it rationally

Gadget manufacturers are making SIM card slots smaller and smaller. For quite a long time, everyone successfully used standard SIM cards, and were quite happy. Not so long ago, micro-SIMs appeared, which were smaller in size, and began to be actively used in modern devices - tablets and smartphones. As soon as operators began to get used to such know-how, Apple again attracted attention by releasing a new iPhone 5 model designed for nano-SIM. And here Apple fans had serious difficulties - not a single Russian operator was ready for such sales. The lack of this type of SIM cards stopped many buyers. But the most devoted fans did not lose heart, but solved this problem quickly enough - converting from micro-SIM to nano-SIM is a matter of ten minutes.

Micro SIM size is only 12mm*15mm.

Nano SIM size 9mm*12mm.

With a reduction in size, the SIM card does not lose its functionality. The step from micro-SIM to nano-SIM is not only a reduction in size, but also a significant change in weight. For comparison, just take them in your hands.

Great news for apple lovers

Many consumers are not ready for such amateur efforts to adjust SIM cards to the slot size. Don’t be upset, because at the presentation of the latest version of the iPhone, it was noted that about 70,000 nano-SIMs were released in parallel with the smartphone. Russian telecom operators have placed orders for a large number of such SIM cards, so very soon you will be able to buy a nano-SIM in any store in your city.

Currently, micro- and nano-SIMs are used only in Apple models, but in the near future, manufacturers such as Samsung, HTC and others are planning to switch to smaller SIM cards in order to save precious space in the device.

We did not have the opportunity to check how successfully a nano-SIM cut out by ourselves would work. There is no guarantee that the card will ultimately be fully functional. In addition, all measurements were made manually and only based on mathematical knowledge.

And so we will present you a video of one of the users who managed to cut a nano SIM from a micro SIM. The required dimensions were taken from the nano SIM description. The result is a 100 percent match in terms of “dimensions”, so theoretically the card has every chance of proving its suitability for working in the iPhone 5. But, of course, it is still better to purchase a SIM card from an official mobile service provider.

Watch the video tutorial below:

Attention: Please read additional information before starting. And first of all, take your time, be careful.

It is clear that it would be much more correct to purchase an original nano SIM, but if for some reason this is not possible, then this video instruction will be very useful.

First of all, from the nano SIM specification we have the following overall dimensions: width: 12.3 mm, length: 8.8 mm, thickness: 0.67 mm. For measurements, it is best to have an electronic caliper on hand, because a regular ruler will not work in this case.

The ETSI website states that nano SIMs can be made in different ways, but all of them will be compatible with current SIM standards. In addition, it is confirmed that the new design offers the same functional features as all SIM cards.

First, measure the dimensions (width, length, thickness) of the card you have. This is necessary in order to have an idea of where and how much will need to be cut in order to make a homemade nano-Sim out of it.

It is clear that the sizes of some micro SIMs may differ, but in general they are approximately the same.

In the prototype, the dimensions of the micro SIM are as follows: width - 14.99 mm, length - 12.03 mm, thickness - 0.81 mm. I had to cut it to 2.69 mm in width and 3.28 mm in length. The most difficult thing was to reduce the card thickness by 0.14 mm.

For “surgical manipulation” of the length and width, ordinary scissors were used. Sandpaper was used to reduce the thickness of the card.

When adjusting the overall parameters, it is necessary to periodically check the dimensions using a caliper. Everything is done carefully and carefully, because any error in the fit can lead to destruction of the chip itself.

The result is a card that closely resembles a real nano SIM. Of course, you shouldn’t rush, because the performance of such a “homemade product” has not been tested, so we do not recommend immediately sitting down and cutting your existing SIM card before purchasing the legendary iPhone 5. Otherwise, it will no longer be possible to restore it. Let us remind you that the performance of the card was tested only on Nokia. As a result, the device detected a “new” SIM card, which in principle guarantees a high chance of successful completion of the operation.

And finally, some friendly advice: first, try making a nano SIM from an old or unnecessary SIM card.
