Logitech keyboards: connection, reviews, how to disassemble. On an Android tablet, switching the USB keyboard to Russian does not work. How to fix? Spectral color illumination

Technology developers always strive to achieve one goal - to increase human convenience and comfort. Computer technology is no exception. The weight and size of laptops have decreased, routers have made it possible to access the Internet without eternal problems with connectors and cables; examples can be listed almost endlessly. Let's talk about one of these know-how in more detail. We will talk about setting up and connecting a wireless keyboard.

When purchasing a new wireless keyboard, keep in mind that it should come with three items. The first of them is the keyboard itself, the second is a disk with drivers, the last is a wireless adapter that connects via a USB port and works on the Bluetooth principle. Sometimes this kit may include several batteries, but often they must be purchased separately. Rechargeable batteries are perfect for this purpose, although they are quite expensive, but unlike regular ones, they can be charged, and they also hold a charge much longer. In addition, there are kits on sale that also include a mouse. However, everything depends directly on the manufacturer and price. So, let's proceed directly to the installation. To begin, insert the disk on which the drivers are recorded into the drive, and as soon as it starts, a menu should appear. But if nothing appears automatically, then you need to start it manually. To do this, go to the standard “Computer” explorer or “My Computer” if you are using the Windows XP operating system. Next, double-click the left mouse button on the drive icon and in the window that opens, find the file called “Install.exe” or “Setup.exe”. Launch it and you can start connecting the keyboard to your computer.

Now you need to connect the wireless adapter to the USB port. By the way, sometimes such connectors are equipped with an LED to make it easier to understand, which will start blinking when the connection with the keyboard is established. If there is any problem, the light bulb will not work. And if you have connected a laser bear before, then this experience will help, since the installation is similar. Next you need to insert the batteries. Installing them does not require extraordinary knowledge, and we hope that you can do it yourself. If the keyboard does not work, turn it over and carefully examine the back cover; there should be a switch in the form of a small lever on it. It should be moved to the “ON” position, this should turn on the power to the product. Next, a message will appear on the desktop that the system has detected a new device, and Windows will automatically install drivers from the previously launched disk. When the setup is complete, restart your computer and you can use the keyboard.

And if you have problems with the BIOS system, you will have to abandon the idea. Get a keyboard with a regular cable, as older motherboards do not support USB adapter settings and the Windows driver itself is not included.

How to connect a wireless keyboard?

The keyboard is one of the main devices of a computer, like a monitor or system unit. In addition, the productivity of your activities, the degree of fatigue and other important indicators depend on the ease of its use.

And communication with the TV, without which it is difficult to imagine modern homes, using the keyboard turns into a pleasure. This is why a wireless keyboard becomes a convenient and important accessory. And after purchasing it, it becomes necessary to connect it correctly.

How to connect a keyboard to a computer

The device kit includes: the keyboard itself, a special adapter for connecting to a computer via a USB port, and a disk with drivers. Many manufacturers also offer a wireless mouse.

You need to remember that the keyboard works using a Bluetooth connection, but power is provided by batteries. Therefore, it is better to check with the store whether they are included with your keyboard or whether they need to be purchased separately.

Surely, the device comes with accompanying documentation, in which case you can use it, but if there are no instructions, follow these steps:

Now we will learn how to properly connect the keyboard to the TV.

Connecting to a TV

Controlling a TV with Smart TV technology can be much more convenient using a keyboard than controlling a regular remote control. To connect the keyboard to the TV, follow these steps:

  1. When purchasing, make sure that the devices you purchase are compatible with your TV: you can find this information in the instructions.
  2. Connect the USB adapter to a free port on the TV.

That's it, the device is ready for use, it is configured automatically. As you can see, the main problem is choosing the right keyboard. Here you can follow this rule: usually equipment from the same manufacturer works quite successfully in tandem. Just keep in mind that TVs released later often do not accept older versions of peripherals.

Few people know about an interesting opportunity that owners of Logitech wireless devices can take advantage of. The technology is called Unifying (from the English “unify” - “unite”) and allows you to connect up to six compatible wireless devices to one USB receiver. Therefore, you can free up USB ports, which is especially useful for laptops that already have few USB ports. Also, this feature will help in a situation when one of the receivers “dies” and you urgently need to transfer the device to another receiver, or when one of the receivers is lost. In this article we will tell you which receivers provide Logitech Unifying technology, how to link multiple devices to one receiver and how to return everything to the way it was, and what to do if your Logitech receiver is lost or broken.

What devices are compatible with Logitech Unifying receivers?

If you already have a Logitech mouse or keyboard, you can determine if it's compatible with Unifying receivers in just a second. Just look at your device - there should be an icon on the bottom of the device, on the technical information sticker, or directly on the case - this means that your model supports Unifying technology. In addition, such an icon must be on the receiver itself.

Many devices released by Logitech lately are compatible with Unifying receivers. A list of the most popular models that support the described device combining function is contained at the end of the article.

Please note that only devices that are compatible with Unifying receivers (that is, have an icon) can be paired. This means that it is impossible to link any other device that does not support this technology to the Logitech Unifying receiver.

How do I connect multiple Logitech devices to one Unifying receiver?

First of all, we'll need two devices (or more) that are compatible with Logitech Unifying. In our example, we are using a Logitech M215 mouse and a Logitech K360 keyboard.
And, most importantly, you need to download and install a program from Logitech, in which we will pair our devices.

Step 1. We connect one of the receivers to the computer and launch the Logitech Unifying program. Connectivity only one receiver for pairing multiple devices will be very useful if the second receiver is broken or lost.

Step 2. To begin the process of combining (or “pairing”) devices, click the “next” button. The program provides clear instructions with pictures, thereby making the task much easier. If two receivers were connected, you must first disconnect one of the Unifying receivers from the computer, leaving only the one to which all other devices will be connected. After this, the “next” button should become active, click on it.

Step 3. Turn off and on the device that needs to be linked to the receiver.

After restarting the device, in our case the keyboard, a window automatically appears notifying that the keyboard is ready for use, with which we are congratulated:

Now we can connect the next device by clicking on the “connect additional device” button or finish working with the program.

“I want everything back the way it was.” We break the Logitech Unifying connection and assign one device to each receiver.

If you need to break the connection (for example, if you are selling one of the devices or want to connect it separately to another computer), it will also not take much time and effort.

Step 1. We connect the “clean” receiver to the computer and launch the Logitech Unifying program.

Step 2. On the start page of the program, click the “advanced” button and see approximately the following picture:

This means that two devices are “attached” to the first receiver - a mouse and keyboard, and the second receiver is empty. We need to rebind one of two devices to an empty receiver, so we get 1 receiver = 1 device.

Step 3. Select the device that needs to be disconnected from the first receiver and press the “break connection” button. If you have a choice between a mouse and a keyboard, then it is better to unpair the keyboard, because after the connection is broken, the computer will not respond to your actions with the device, and the mouse will be useful to us in the next minute (unlike the keyboard).

Step 4. Select an empty receiver and click the “Link a new device” button. A window will appear in which we are asked to turn off and turn on the connected device. We restart this device (in our example it is the keyboard), after which the device will bind to the second receiver and is completely ready for work.

I lost the receiver for my Logitech keyboard or mouse, what should I do? The Logitech receiver is broken, what should I do?

Unfortunately, sometimes Logitech receivers break. Even more often they get lost. If your device, which is left without a receiver, supports Logitech Unifying technology (i.e. has a special icon), then you can buy such a Logitech Unifying USB receiver on AliExpress. However, given the relatively high cost of a separate receiver (500-800 rubles) and long delivery times from China (at least two to three weeks), perhaps you would be more comfortable ordering a new Logitech Unifying mouse or keyboard. For example, if you have a Logitech keyboard with a broken Unifying receiver, you can treat yourself and buy an inexpensive mouse that supports the same technology and connect the keyboard to the mouse receiver (see How to connect multiple Logitech devices to one Unifying receiver?). It will not be much more expensive than a separate receiver, but it will be many times faster.

Despite the fact that I am not a rich person, I have two Android devices, fortunately they are inexpensive. But it just so happens that I don’t like typing on the touch keyboard. Because it’s impossible, it’s not human.

I also have a tablet, from which I sometimes want to surf or type something on it. I also sometimes surf through TV (I was recently surprised to learn from the news that as many as 30% of Russians do this, although I don’t believe such unfortunate statistics). My TV is not smart, but an inexpensive and already quite old Android M8 set-top box on Amlogic S802 is connected to it. I also have a separate desktop computer.

I was reading reviews and came across something called Logitech K380. Its main feature is the ability to connect with three Bluetooth devices, that is, with a reserve. There is nothing else special about the keyboard, except perhaps a well-known brand. Since I bought it for myself, I’ll tell you a little more about it.

The device itself comes in a cardboard box like this. Requirements and compatibility, all in Russian.

There is practically nothing in the kit. But what can you expect here? Instructions for turning on and the keyboard itself are in film.

Let's look at the keyboard. An interesting feature is the round buttons. The keyboard is clearly designed for both Mac and PC, and for Android too. Therefore, all possible inscriptions are applied to the buttons. For example, the letter “е” is printed in as many as two places, in one in accordance with the Mac layout, in the other - from the PC. There are home buttons, a context menu and a list of running applications - this is for Android. The font is legible, there is no feeling of fuss.

The yellow switch buttons are closer. A long press on them causes the “pairing” process, the light begins to flicker. When the devices are paired, the light glows steadily and then goes off. The LED is not a burning blue, but a calm white one; you could leave it in order to always understand where exactly the device is connected. However, when switching, I just press the button just in case, after a week of use it’s already instinctive.

The Enter key is European, large. The letters are applied to the device using stickers, this is not very good, it is possible that after a certain period of time they will begin to wear off. But it is possible that by then you will no longer look at them especially.

The arrow keys are quite small. I use them for control in text editors, but I practically don’t play games.

The key travel is shallow and the presses are quite clear. However, if you place your finger on the edge of the key, it warps slightly, this is not mechanics for you. Despite the strange shape of the keys, I did not feel any discomfort when typing. But a couple of friends said that this is impossible, and we need normal ones. This is probably purely individual. However, if I typed a lot, I wouldn't buy this keyboard.

The device runs on two AAA batteries. The original set lasted me about 3 weeks of intensive use, but I haven’t gotten around to wearing the second one yet. Batteries would probably be a smart purchase as part of the kit.

The keyboard itself is not tall and has no legs (only laptop rubber bands), so if you want an adjustable angle, you should look for another device.

I bought a keyboard for 2500 rubles. It's quite expensive, but this device replaces three. It would probably be more convenient for someone to buy three cheap keyboards. I don't. I don't regret the purchase.

pros

  • Qualitatively assembled, from good materials.
  • Can work with 3 devices in turn
  • There are all the necessary buttons for all systems
  • Pleasant modest design, with an unusual shape of the buttons
  • You can save money and not buy 3 keyboards
Minuses
  • Some may find this shape of buttons inconvenient.
  • Battery life is not very long, you need to buy batteries

  • Price. For this money you can buy 3 keyboards :)
  • Method of writing letters. They may wear off.

After purchasing any gadget, you need to connect it, but it is not always clear from the instructions included with it how to do this. In this article we will tell you about connecting a wireless keyboard to your computer.

How to connect a wireless keyboard?

Installing the keyboard is easy, provided that in addition to it you have:

  • USB adapter;
  • driver disk;
  • free USB port on your computer;
  • batteries (usually AA batteries).

If everything is there, you can proceed with the actual installation:

  1. Insert the disc into the DVD-ROM and wait for the installation program to autorun. If this does not happen, then click the “My Computer” icon and open the disk being used.
  2. We find the installation file on it (with the extension .exe) and, following the prompts that appear, install the program.
  3. Insert the adapter into the USB port.
  4. Insert batteries if they are not already installed.

If everything is done correctly, a message indicating that the device has been detected will appear on the monitor. The computer itself will find and activate drivers for the wireless keyboard. Once the message “the device is ready for use” appears, you can use it.

How to enable a wireless keyboard?

Sometimes you need to additionally enable the keyboard. To do this, move the lever from the “Off” to “On” position. It is most often located on the bottom or top side panel of the device.

What should I do if my wireless keyboard doesn't work?

It happens that the keyboard stops or never starts working. Here's what you can do in this case:

  1. Check batteries. It happens that they are not installed correctly or they are discharged.
  2. Press down the USB adapter. He could simply move away and stop receiving the signal. In some cases, it is worth trying to move it to another connector.
  3. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
  4. Remove all metal objects, including cell phones.

If the keyboard does not work, you should contact a specialist.

A wireless keyboard can be used not only to work on a computer, but also to control a TV or alarm system.
