Compact camera sony cyber shot. Compact camera Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX30 Black. Opinions on ergonomics

Article text updated: 08/07/2016

In one of the first articles on the site, in the “Photography” section, I shared my thoughts on which camera is best for a beginning amateur photographer to buy: a DSLR camera, the now fashionable mirrorless camera, or save money and take a high-quality point-and-shoot camera with more functions. Just as every crane praises the frogs in his native swamp, so I, the owner of the entry-level Nikon D5100 KIT 18-55 VR DSLR, certainly pushed the reader to purchase this type of camera. And if everything is clear when comparing DSLRs and mirrorless cameras (the same picture from related matrices, the only difference is the automatic focus system and the presence or absence of a choice of lenses), then when we want to compare a DSLR and a compact camera, it’s usually even simpler. Reviews from professionals say that soap dishes have a much smaller matrix and the quality of the lens glass is worse, they make a lot more noise, so the picture from them is worse. Let's not be unfounded and today we will compare images obtained on an expensive point-and-shoot camera and a cheap DSLR.

The blog already contains reports about a trip to Thailand on my own in 2010, about climbing Mount Moses in Egypt, shot on compact digital cameras Sony Cybershot DSC-W15 and DSC-W350. But these soap dish models are already obsolete, so for the test I asked a friend to rent an advanced ultrasonic Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX50. We will compare pictures from it with photographs taken on an amateur SLR camera in the lower price range Nikon D5100 with a Nikkor 18-55/3.5-5.6 VR KIT lens.

You can buy a Sony DSC HX50 camera today, December 25, 2014, according to the Yandex Market platform, for an average of 14,000 rubles. I will not list all the technical characteristics of the compact, I will only note the main ones:

  • The light sensitivity of the matrix lies in the range ISO 100 – 3200.
  • Number of megapixels – 20.4
  • Image resolution – 5184*2920
  • CROP factor – 5.62.
  • Lens – zoom with EGF (equivalent focal length) 24-720 millimeters, i.e. 4.3-129 mm real.
  • Aperture f/3.5 – f/5.6.
  • Shutter speed ranges from 30 to 1/4000 seconds.
  • Video shooting – in 1920*1080px format at 60 fps.

Like a professional camera, Sony's ultrazoom has the ability to change camera settings (ISO, shutter speed, aperture, exposure bracketing, HDR and others) and shooting modes (M, A, S, different methods of metering exposure and focusing).

At first glance, it loses to the Nikon D5100 KIT 18-55 VR DSLR in the following parameters: the matrix is small and the pixel is too small. The Nikon D5100 KIT 18-55 VR camera has a crop factor of 1.5 and a pixel count of 16.2 Mpx. In the commentary dated 11/12/2014 to the article comparing the characteristics of Nikon D5300, D5200, D5100 and D3100 DSLR cameras, there is a calculation of the pixel sizes of DSLRs and the Canon PowerShot SX60 HS ultrazoom. There I found out that a soap dish with a crop factor of 5.62 has a size of 9.34 micrometers, versus 35.00 for the Nikon D5100 (for reference: the D5200 and D800 have 23.33). In other words, one image point on the matrix of a Sony DSC HX50 digital camera is 3.74 times smaller than that of a Nikon D5100 SLR camera. And the physical sensor size of the Sony DSC-HX50 is 6.3x4.27 millimeters, versus 23.6x15.6 for cropped Nikon SLR cameras.

Photo 2. To take a high-quality photo in low light, even with a Sony Cyber-shot DSC HX50 point-and-shoot camera, it is better to mount it on a tripod. Pictured is the G20X head of the Sirui T-2204X carbon tripod.

I won’t go into the wilds of theory, but professionals say that the smaller the matrix of a digital camera, the more difficult it is to blur the background in photographs. And the smaller the sensor pixel, the more demanding it is on the quality of the glass, i.e. the more expensive the lens will be required to take a clear photo. We noted above that the Sony Cyber-shot DSC HX50 soap dish has a pixel smaller by almost 4 times, i.e. her lens must be of super-quality.

Just for fun, look at the prices of DSLR lenses. For example, a Nikkor 70-300 telephoto camera (which I own) with a maximum focal length of 300 millimeters (which is 2 times less than the Sony Cyber-shot DSC HX50 ultrazoom) today costs 20,500 rubles (more expensive than Sony’s camera). And the price of a Sony DT 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM lens with similar parameters for Sony full-frame cameras is also comparable to the DSC-HX50 ultrasonic lens. I suspect that this fact indicates that Sony uses glass for its soap dishes, but it is not of the highest quality...

Yes, what is the price of my DSLR camera with the cheapest Nikon D5100 KIT 18-55 VR lens? On Yandex Market today, December 25, 2014, it costs 22,000 rubles. But on the pages of the site I have already repeatedly advised beginners to buy such a set used, since any professional photographer will tell you that Nikon cameras are very reliable, you can safely buy used options. According to the Avito website, the price of a used Nikon D5100 KIT 18-55 digital SLR camera ranges from 15,000 to 18,000 rubles. I am sure that if you haggle well, you can buy it for 12-13 thousand. Thus, the prices for a new expensive point-and-shoot camera and a used entry-level DSLR are practically comparable. Let's move from theory to practice and look at examples of photographs taken with these models of digital cameras in the same lighting conditions.

Soap boxVS DSLR. Samples of landscape photos

I’ll say right away that I was not interested in conducting a detailed test in laboratory conditions. You can easily find many such reviews on the Internet. I decided to compare the photos from the point of view of an ordinary person who is going on vacation and puzzles over the question: “What is better to choose: a cheap DSLR or an expensive point-and-shoot camera? What camera can you use to get high-quality photographs?

Therefore, today we will look at photographs taken in nature during a walk through the Bazhovsky Places natural park to Talkov Stone Lake. Unfortunately, we were unlucky with the weather: it was a cloudy, gloomy day, so it will not be possible to show a photo with the play of light. On the other hand, in order to get sharp images, in order to avoid such a phenomenon as micro-blurring at long shutter speeds, I had to increase the ISO. So, let's see how both the Sony DSC HX50 camera and the Nikon D5100 KIT 18-55 VR amateur DSLR cope with the situation of poor lighting.

The Bazhovsky Places Nature Park is located fifty kilometers from Yekaterinburg: in the vicinity of the city of Sysert, Sverdlovsk region. On my website there is already a report on a weekend trip to Talkov Stone Lake in summer and autumn, a review of the professional carbon tripod Sirui T-2204X has been published, illustrations and videos for which were shot there. Now we can see what this beautiful landmark looks like in winter.

You buy tickets, pass by a sign informing you that there are beavers in the river in the national park. From the hillock there is a view of the “Lovers' Gazebo” with a strange couple.

Photo 3. A couple in love in the Bazhovsky Places natural park. Shot on Sony DSC-HX50. In the future, all photos from the soap dish will be located on top. (ISO 200, FR=4.3 (EGF= 24.17 mm), f/4.5, shutter speed 1/320 second)

I note that all photographs on both cameras were taken today in my preferred “A” mode (aperture priority). To make it easier for advanced amateur photographers to compare the quality of images at different focal lengths, I will indicate the EGF - equivalent focal length - in parentheses. And one more thing: on the Sony Cybershot DSC HX50 digital camera the white balance mode was set to “Cloudy”, and on the Nikon D5100 KIT 18-55 DSLR I always set it to “Auto”. All images from the point-and-shoot camera were processed in Photoshop (contrast, size reduction, sharpening). All photos from a DSLR camera were taken in RAW, processed in Lightroom, and after export, sharpening was also applied to them. If necessary, here you can download a couple of original photos in JPEG and NEF format.

Let's try to take a close-up portrait to see how our competitors blur the background. Here's a photo from Sonya.

And here is a sample of a portrait taken with an amateur Nikon D5100 KIT 18-55 camera.

Soon we come across a tree felled by beavers across the river. Apparently, the animals tried to build a dam.

Photo 8. A tree that was gnawed by beavers in the Bazhovsky Places natural park. (Shooting parameters on a SLR camera: ISO 200, FR 20 (30mm), f=7.1, 1/50c)

Friends, I’m too lazy to type all these abbreviations, so in the future I will only post numbers with camera settings, placed in the order presented above.

In winter, there are fewer tourists in the Bazhovsky Places natural park than in summer or spring. But the paths are well cleared of snow.

Photo 9. This is what the paths look like in the Bazhovsky Places natural park in winter. When shooting, I should have adjusted the exposure compensation on the Sony Cyber Shot compact camera to somewhere around +0.3...+0.7 EV, then the snow would have turned out white, not gray (digital camera settings: 400, 4.3 (24) , 8, 1/125)

10. When processing a photo taken with a DSLR, it is easier to lighten the image, since I photographed in RAW format and then processed the images in the Lightroom graphic editor (read how to learn how to set the camera settings when shooting in the “Photography” section. 500, 20 (30 ), 8, 1/80)

The river was not completely frozen. Near the thawed patches you can see beautiful pieces of ice.

This is where the high magnification capability of our Sony Cybershot DSC HX50 soap dish comes in handy. True, when shooting photographs at a long focal length, the likelihood of micro-blurring increases, so all further photographs in the review were taken from a Sirui T-2204X tripod.

In terms of convenience of changing focal lengths, the Sony compact camera outperforms the Nikon D5100 KIT 18-55 DSLR, which can only take such a photo with its standard lens.

You can see that both sample images boast long shutter speeds. I specifically clamped the aperture to increase the exposure time, thereby “blurring” the water.

Yes, a DSLR camera, compared to a point-and-shoot camera, has an ace in its pocket: you can replace the lens. Let's put a Nikkor 70-300 telephoto camera on the Nikon D5100 body DSLR.

Since we've attached a telephoto lens to a DSLR camera, let's try to test how a compact and DSLR blur the background in a photograph.

15. Sample photo taken on a Sony DSC-HX50 point-and-shoot camera with shooting parameters: 400, 19.37 (109), 5.6, 1/250. Read the “Photography” section, where there are many photography lessons for beginning photographers. The information is also useful for compact owners.

Finally, we saw the majestic rocks of Lake Talkov Stone. This is what it looks like in winter.

Repeatedly, in various photography lessons for beginners, we noted that the scale of mountains, rocks and skyscrapers is easier to convey in a photograph if you shoot a landscape at a long focal length.

Some of the tourists have already started celebrating the New Year on Lake Talkov Stone and decorated a Christmas tree.

When I wrote a report about a weekend tour to the Bazhovsky Places natural park in the fall, I reported that some film about Siberian hermits had recently been filmed here. Since then, a hut has appeared on the shore of the lake.

The highest rock on the shore of the Talkov stone rises 27 meters above the level of the water surface. This is the view of the winter lake from above.

Photo 26. Lake Talkov stone in winter. The photo was taken on a Sony DSC HX50 digital SLR camera. 100, 4.3 (24), 8, 1/15. Again, I needed to introduce exposure compensation +0.3...+0.7 EV, since digital cameras “confuse” white balance in winter. This applies not only to ultrazoom, but to all types of cameras.

I tried to zoom in on the images of people having a picnic on the opposite bank of the reservoir.

I didn’t mention at the beginning of our review that I went to the Bazhovsky Places National Park together with blog reader Daniil, whom we met offline back in the fall, when we were photographing at the Nizhnyaya Sinyachikha Museum-Reserve of Wooden Architecture. Today he shot with a professional Nikon D600 camera.

Photo 29. Photographer on a rock in the Bazhovsky Places natural park. 100, 12.8 (72), 8, 1/5. Shot on a Sony DSC HX50 ultrasonic camera. How to learn to take photographs correctly, read in the “Photography” section

So, I hope you and I can make one more comparison: we will see pictures taken with a Nikon D600 DSLR camera under the same conditions.

It gets dark early in winter. I took the last photo on Lake Talkov Stone almost in the dark. It was difficult to distinguish the details in the photograph from a point-and-shoot camera; I had to do cross-processing.

But the Nikon D5100 KIT 18-55 VR DSLR did not require such sacrifices.

The last shots were taken not from my Sirui T2204X-G20X carbon tripod, but from Daniil’s aluminum tripod. We decided to switch so that he could get the experience of a better device. I don’t know if the reason is that a carbon tripod dampens vibrations better or not, but it seems to me that the photos from an aluminum tripod are not as clear.

In my report on a weekend trip to Lake Talkov Stone, I threatened to show a memorial plaque with information that revolutionaries gathered here for secret gatherings at the beginning of the last century. Not even a year has passed and I keep my promise.

Here is a review with examples of photographs taken on a digital compact camera Sony Cyber-Shot DSC HX50 and a Nikon D5100 KIT 18-55 DSLR. I hope there is enough material for you to compare pictures taken during the daytime. It seems that the soap dish performed well. But it’s too early to draw conclusions, because we haven’t yet looked at samples of photos taken at night... Reviews from owners of the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC HX50 ultrazoom often say that it starts to make noise already from low ISO values. See the night photo test in the next part of the review. (link with arrow - at the top right or bottom of the article)

What I didn't like

The slightest tremor of the hand or object and the photo is blurry, the camera is inconvenient to hold with one hand. When photographed with a flash, faces turn out ugly, it exposes too much, adjustment does not help. Night photography is lousy; it’s impossible to shoot in low light without a flash; for example, you can’t shoot snakes by candlelight. or everything will be in red tones. It makes a lot of noise.

What I liked

Nice design, I like the touch display and its size, it’s convenient to view photos. Photos turn out quite good if there is good lighting and no flash, and if the subject does not move

What I didn't like

unnoticed

What I liked

Convenient, large, touch screen, holds a charge for a long time, many settings, good build quality.

What I didn't like

the price was high (because they bought it immediately when it went on sale), but there were no others))

What I liked

awesome colors! the photos are bright and rich, easy to use, good modes

What I didn't like

Of course the price. We don’t use some bells and whistles at all.

What I liked

In good lighting, the photos come out just super, no worse than from a DSLR. The optics are very good. Easy to use.

What I didn't like

Lack of optical stabilization, because if it were available for unused modes, it could be turned off, but in the desired low-light situation, only a tripod will help.
There is no auto-timer for shooting 2 seconds, there are only 10 seconds, which also makes it inconvenient to use this technique to prevent hand trembling when pressing the shutter button at long exposures, and wait 10 seconds. several times is an unreasonably long time.

What I liked

Large matrix diagonal + not very large number of megapixels = very good photosensitivity. (In addition, a normal f2.8 lens at the wide end for a point-and-shoot camera.

What I didn't like

Delay 10 sec and not adjustable
Sometimes it’s inconvenient to poke on the screen to select a mode; the wheel and buttons will be more convenient

What I liked

Excellent photo quality for a point-and-shoot camera. The video recording quality is also excellent; some 10-15 k cameras shoot much worse. Only the video memory takes up a lot: 512 MB can accommodate about 6 minutes of video. Record directly in .avi I bought it in the summer of 2006 (this is already the fifth year of use) and there were no problems with it, trouble-free operation. We even went as far as filming a snowboarding descent - everything was great

What I didn't like

For a modern device it will seem a little heavy, but in 2006, when I bought it, it was chic

What I liked

Convenient touch screen Well-thought-out menu Easy to control Excellent photos Good quality video recording

For a long time now, the Sony company has been presenting its own cameras to its customers. Their line is replenished and updated quite often. Technologies are being replaced with modern ones, and quality is constantly improving. Often, manufacturers of this technology do not risk experimenting and making various radical changes, but Sony has proven that such solutions can also be profitable. You can often notice that developers only modify the appearance of cameras. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W810 is an exception to the rule. The company, while reconstructing the device, added a large number of options and various effects to it.

General information about the camera

The new device from Sony has a fairly powerful matrix. It has a resolution of 20 megapixels, and itself is created using CCD technology. Thanks to this solution, the camera takes pictures very well, and the quality of the images remains at a high level. This nuance is the main advantage of all digital devices from this manufacturer.

Moreover, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W810 device, which has positive reviews, can shoot video in HD format. Built-in instant playback function. The model received from the manufacturer a large list of settings and options. Many of them have automatic mode. For example, the “Beautiful” technology is necessary so that the photographer can eliminate all existing defects in the image at any time.

This camera will also be useful for those people who love to perform some experimental and extreme actions. In addition to the usual functions that make it easier to work with the device and improve the quality of pictures, there are additional ones such as creating panoramic photos. This device is designed not only for professionals, but also for ordinary amateurs. The camera has the ability to take photographs with a wide view of 360 degrees.

Specifications

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W810 camera has special distinctive features that are not available to many budget models. Firstly, the camera is distinguished by its high resolution. Such an indicator as provided by the manufacturer is extremely rare for such a price tag. There are many other advantages that buyers note.

The focal length is 26-130 mm. The zoom function is 5x zoom. As for the pixels, there are 20.1 million of them. The resolution of the resulting images is 5152 × 3864. The screen diagonal is 2.7 inches. Built-in storage is 27 MB. Power is supplied by a lithium-ion battery. Its capacity is 630 mAh. All videos are recorded in AVI resolution.

The device features an orientation sensor. The weight of the camera is 111 grams. The camera can be distinguished not only by its functional characteristics, but also by its external design. The filling is fully compatible with the proposed design. It is also necessary to note the style of the device. In addition to silver, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W810 Silver can be found in black and pink.

Available modes

Before delighting their customers with an excellent matrix, the developers took care of creating a larger number of available shooting modes. The device can operate in automatic mode, that is, take pictures independently. There are also several options for working with white balance.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W810 digital camera has a modern and new “Party” mode. It is designed for taking pictures in low light conditions: in the evening or at night, in dark rooms. When working with this function, the camera independently adjusts all the necessary parameters, producing excellent images with good detail. To do this, it uses ISO sensitivity. The brightness and exposure settings are also changed, so the photographer can count on good photos at night.

Camera benefits

This model fully demonstrates how the mass of fans of such technology can respond well to significant modifications to the device. Many buyers write positive reviews that the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W810 Black camera takes excellent panoramic photos. Light sensitivity and battery life pleases many.

But consumer reviews are not particularly enthusiastic about the quality of the images. Even though the matrix is selected well, the model shows poor color rendition. But overall the detailing is really quite good.

As for the videos, the reviews are also excellent. Thanks to the improvement of maximum quality to HD, buyers note that not only the video (image) itself has become better, but also the sound. This versatile device is often used to create amateur photographs and videos. This solution is really not bad.

Negative reviews

Even with a great desire to please customers with an excellent model, Japanese manufacturers made a mistake. They've packed a lot of great features and options into a budget camera, but they haven't been able to improve the quality of the pictures you take with this camera. The compact camera Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W810 has a low cost, so many people simply turn a blind eye to this nuance.

However, the camera also earned negative reviews due to its poor ergonomics. As a rule, customers note the terrible menu. At the same time, they emphasize that all controls are perfectly installed, they are always accessible, and they are compact.

Some photographers note that all images take a long time to process, and when changing operating modes you can experience a slight freeze. Due to the inconveniently implemented menu and performance problems, buyers are wondering whether it is worth spending money on this camera. But many others claim that for this level of technology the photo quality is acceptable, the price is reasonable, and the design is excellent. All this, in their opinion, compensates for the existing shortcomings.

General impressions

The overall impression of the device is good. It should be noted that newbie photographers are actively advised to purchase it. The camera is valued for its functionality and ease of use. The ergonomics are made as successfully as possible, so buyers have no complaints about this aspect. Only a small percentage of users advise staying away from the device. Whether this device is worth buying is something everyone should decide for themselves.

Fakes

Many buyers write that after a while, after about a year, the device stops working. Sometimes the matrix may turn off on its own. Customers also often complain about keys sticking, but this rarely happens. Most likely, the problem is that people bought the model at a reduced price not at official sales points. There is a high probability of coming across a fake.

What to do in this case? You should try to return the device or contact the police. The fact is that many people sell batches of cameras illegally, so there is a chance to get their money back. Counterfeits also have problems with image quality due to the fact that they work with a poor matrix. Its resolution is reduced. Photos exhibit noise and pixelation when enlarged on a computer or laptop.

You need to remember that you need to purchase such equipment only in official stores. They issue a guarantee that will allow you to repair the device free of charge if it breaks down. There is no need to be fooled by a low price, because it should a priori warn the buyer about the potential danger.

What to do if the camera stops working?

Often people experience that the device stops working or turns off on its own. Do not forget that this device was released a long time ago, so similar problems may occur with it.

First, you need to make sure that the device is not a fake, otherwise it will be quite difficult to get help from the official service. If a warranty was issued upon purchase, you can contact the service center. They will help you correct the error. If it was not the fault of the owner, then the repair will be done absolutely free of charge.

You should also check to see if the battery is drained. Sometimes it happens that the indicator shows a full charge, but in reality only a few percent remains. Then the device can turn off on its own.

Memory and battery

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W810 camera, reviews of which are discussed above in the article, works with a lithium-ion battery. It is sold as a set. A full charge of the device is enough to take 250 photos. In order to save them, you should purchase a memory card, since the built-in storage is only 27 MB. External drives such as SD, SDHC, SDXC are suitable. To connect to a computer, use a USB-type connector.

Let's sum it up

Large companies take the production of equipment in the budget segment very seriously. They try to present the buyer with the highest quality devices for a small amount. Few companies manage to best combine quality and an excellent price tag that is affordable to everyone.

The Japanese manufacturer has long been known in the technology market as reliable and expensive. His equipment is in demand; it is known as modern and high-quality electronics. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W810 camera, reviews of which are mostly positive, has its drawbacks.

The manufacturer was unable to fully equip it with all the requirements. Compared to other cheap cameras, this camera has a high-quality matrix. This article described a common device for creating vibrant, life-filled photographs. For beginner photographers, this option is ideal, as it has an impressive number of functions and a stable low cost. Today you can buy this camera for 7 thousand rubles. Reliability and durability are Sony's calling card, so the device will not disappoint anyone in these matters.

In the compact camera market, any buyer can get lost, because no segment of digital devices has such an abundant supply of products as in this class. You can understand the manufacturers, because the basic selection criteria for most future owners are price, decent quality, compactness and abundant functionality. True, there are not many models on the market that meet all user needs at the same time.

The Sony Cyber Shot camera is able to satisfy the majority of potential buyers, because it is the only one, among a million analogues, that meets all market requirements. Characteristics, settings and reviews from owners will help you make a choice in the domestic market in the segment of compact digital devices.

Appearances are always deceiving

Pursuing the goal of purchasing an inexpensive and compact camera on the market, buyers constantly forget about quality. It is for this reason that owners are not always satisfied with their digital devices and are faced with choosing a mirror device. But the situation can be corrected by initially giving preference to a gadget with a large and high-quality matrix.

There are not many devices on the market that combine high quality and compact size, for example, the Sony Cyber Shot DSC RX series camera. These devices use a 13.2x8.8 mm matrix. For comparison: all other point-and-shoot cameras have this parameter 2-3 times less. As for comparison with “DSLRs”, the Sony matrix is exactly 4 times smaller than a budget SLR camera.

It's time to meet the sales leaders

It cannot be said that the main characteristic of the Sony Cyber Shot RX series camera is it. It relates more to the basic parameters that determine the purpose of the device - for travel and creativity. One of the main criteria of this device is high photosensitivity with low noise levels. Unlike a SLR camera, which has a larger matrix size, the Sony representative has a smaller one and, accordingly, allows the electronics to receive more light.

The durable aluminum body and compact dimensions reduce the risk of damage during transportation, and the low weight will only be a plus. Focusing is done at 25 points and multi-zone exposure metering is supported. In their reviews, many users compare RX models from Sony with SLR cameras, which have similar functionality, but are heavier and overpriced.

Unique segment

Cameras protected from shock, dust and moisture always find their buyers in the digital device market. Indeed, in addition to functionality and portability, many are attracted by the possibility of shooting in extreme conditions. The compact camera Sony Cyber Shot TX30 has a fairly attractive price (15-17 thousand rubles), so it is not surprising that it quickly found owners on the world market.

Don’t let the appearance of the device confuse a potential buyer - as practice shows, Sony technologists were able to once again surprise their fans. A wide-angle matrix (7.76 mm), high-aperture optics with a focal length of 4.7-23.5 mm, continuous shooting and macro photography make this gadget unique in the class of compact devices. Do not forget that a case protected from shock, dust and moisture only protects the camera from accidental and short-term exposure to an aggressive environment, and does not allow you to be comfortable in it.

Device for creativity

Many potential buyers believe that the Sony Cyber Shot camera - in a small body and light weight - is not capable of much, because it has a small matrix installed. There is some truth to this, but when it comes to shooting landscapes and creative objects, the parameters of the matrix are not as important as the lens. Carl Zeiss optics come to the aid of ultra-thin devices. All owners of Sony smartphones are already familiar with this name, because over the last decade, no company has been able to surpass the quality of smartphone photography that a Sony product is capable of.

The manufacturer’s technologists approached the functionality of the camera in a rather interesting way. It is equipped not only with an omnivorous card reader that understands many different memory card formats, but also with wireless technologies (Wi-Fi and NFC). Don’t forget about manual control of shutter speed and aperture, as is implemented in DSLRs, and the ability to shoot video in FullHD format.

Fight for survival

The Sony Cyber Shot W800 digital camera is considered the cheapest product on the world market from a well-known Japanese manufacturer (7,000 rubles). Judging by the reviews of the owners, its low cost is the main and only advantage in the budget class. All other characteristics of the device are only negative, because the manufacturer, in pursuit of megapixels, was unable to provide the device with decent optics.

The small size of the matrix, large focus and low aperture simply disqualified the gadget from the market of portable digital devices. True, the owners found a way out of the situation - in their reviews they recommend reducing the shooting quality to 8.1 megapixels, choosing the exposure so that the light source is behind, and trying to hold the camera firmly with both hands while releasing the shutter.

Between heaven and earth

A modification of the DSC-H7 is the Sony Cyber Shot camera, reviews of which literally filled the media. The fact is that this particular model does not belong to any segment existing in the digital device market. On the one hand, the device is light and compact - if you really want, you can even carry it in your pocket. But the controls and appearance suggest that it belongs to the creative class. And the great functionality, huge lens and decent high-aperture sensor generally place the gadget in the entry-level “DSLR” segment.

Many owners consider this camera to be the pride of the manufacturer, who, having departed from the norms and rules dictated by the market, created such an interesting symbiosis. Photography? Please: full manual control, choice of scenes, special effects, ultrasound. Need a video? There is no alternative on the market: FullHD with a high frame rate, automatic focus tracking, night photography, stabilizer. Made to last.

Features of digital devices

The advertisement of the last decade: “It’s not a dream - it’s Sony” is quite justified, because, in addition to a high-quality product, the buyer receives a two-year warranty on all digital devices and a full set of accessories that will be useful to any photographer. In the box for any Sony gadget, the user will always find not only the device and instructions, but also a case, a wrist strap and many interface cables that can be useful when working with photographs.

The manufacturer’s instructions are very interesting, which will tell the owner not only about the characteristics and functionality of the device, but also provide the complete algorithm. This approach to a potential buyer was appreciated by all newcomers who are purchasing a digital device for the first time.
