However, all these projects are still far from release, while just recently a game was released that could already shake the snickering giant. Its name is Rift Online. This product gained such a formidable status not only thanks to its 50 million budget, but also thanks to a stellar team of authors whose track record includes projects such as Dungeons & Dragons Online.

Revolutions, as we know, do not take root here, so this game had only one way - to be similar to WoW, but try to surpass it in convenience, beauty and details. We decided to build the game on rules and mechanics that had already been worked out in other games, and we were right. Rift Online takes place in the fairy-tale world of Telara, located between two not very friendly dimensions. Long ago, the gods placed a magical seal on Telara that protected her from evil creatures, after which they retired for a smoke break. However, time passed, the seal began to weaken and rifts in space (Rifts) began to appear in the world, from which not too friendly punks emerged.

The game presents its first surprise after a couple of levels have been taken. The class system, which until then seemed wretched and scanty (only four varieties - what a shame!), opens like a bud of a morning flower. It turns out that each archetype contains eight more combinable subclasses, which are called “souls” in the game. Add to this one more auxiliary PvP soul, and you understand the depth of the developers' intention. At first we are offered to choose just one soul, after several levels another one, then a third and so on. The result is a huge number of combinations and talents. You can, for example, pump up the first soul to the end, take only the most necessary from the second, and not touch the third at all. Or you can evenly pump up several branches at once or create a monster of a Persian, whose purpose is only one thing - to “bend” the hated Vasya in a duel. Such a system provides a huge number of possibilities, even within one archetype. As an example, we can take the same robber. He has one soul that serves as a tank, two souls for close combat, three for ranged combat, and even one for healing his friends.

Having made his way through the thickets of the class system, the player plunges into the familiar atmosphere of leveling up, based on the well-known pattern of “do quests, kill monsters, gain experience.” The game world is quite compact, but, unlike the same, completely seamless. Rift Online also features instanced dungeons, as well as fairly extensive raid content (some are designed for 20 or more people).

In terms of equipment, the game also cannot boast of originality. The classic scheme “put on a good thing, then go for an even better one” works here. All clothing is divided into levels, which depend on the levels of the dungeons where they are obtained. In addition, you can get dressed using. You can upgrade your craft to the maximum level of three hundred quite quickly. There are also several collecting professions in the game, so there is always something to do here.

It's too early to evaluate Rift Online today. Too little time has passed since its release. At the moment the game leaves the most favorable impressions. The project is friendly to beginners, has virtually no errors or shortcomings, and the development team is constantly making various updates. The only thing I would like to wish for Worlds is to speed up the pace. The game got off to a good start, but it's clearly not enough to compete with World of Warcraft. In order to withstand the competition, developers will have to run ahead of the entire war machine, with all its fan bases, services and budgets. Whether they will succeed, time will tell.

Rift is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game set in an ever-changing fantasy universe, which sets this game apart from other games in its genre. All battles in the game are massive and dynamic. For example, at any second at any game location they cancracks or fissures will appear - essentially portals through which hostile armies from various parallel worlds enter the world of the Rift game. Players have to unite in groups and seal the cracks in order to prevent the further development of the offensive of the forces of evil.

As for character development, the Rift online game has its own characteristics. The soul system, leading to non-linear character development, is unique. At the very beginning, the player must choose a character class - Priest, Mage, Rogue or Warrior. Selecting a class opens

In addition, the game has 9 professions, both mining and craft. Each player can learn three professions. The beauty of the gameplay is also that in Rift you can upgrade and develop several classes for your character, which opens all the doors for your hero.

I started browsing gaming portals in search of something special, something that would really attract my attention. And then I came across RIFT.

After reading the description, I decided that this is it! However, what initially put me off was that you had to pay to play the game. But then I noticed that new players are given a trial version, which made me very happy - it means you can try out the game and see if you want to pay money for it or not.

So, what did I remember and like the most? As mentioned above, I tried a lot of games. And when I started creating the character, I noticed the first plus - realistic characters. There is no such boring, overly bright hair of an incomprehensible appearance, eyes that fill the entire face, huge mouths, elaborate equipment three times the size of the character himself... However, here you can find a minus - after all, there are not enough hairstyles, face types, etc. to choose from, because sometimes you want more variety. Fans of games like Perfect World or any other game where the character’s appearance can be changed as you please, they will obviously not be happy.

differs from all other Korean and other “reposts”. Of course, this is a class system, about which a lot has already been said. I always spent a lot of time thinking about who to play. After all, each class has its own advantages, and each is in demand to one degree or another. And precisely in

my problem has finally been solved - here you can choose several roles, for all occasions - PvP, PvE, Heal, Damage, Tank, Support, all together and separately, and change them depending on the situation. At the same time, you can change your specialization directly to BG, or already in a raid/dungeon - it doesn’t take much time and doesn’t sacrifice mana. But again, there are few truly playable specs, as elsewhere, there are top builds for each specialization. But you can still experiment and find something of your own, original.

Naturally, we should also mention the well-known faults, after which the game is named. Faults are precisely the key feature

At a random time, in a random place, a rift opens, which is unsealed using a rift catalyst. When opened, special quests appear, the completion of which gives a good reward. Although at first it was more pleasant for me to watch what was happening - the faults themselves are indescribably beautiful, and sometimes I can’t even believe that dangerous creatures are being transported to Telara through them. But perhaps I just haven’t reached the level yet where the “war” with the faults will become more epic and interesting, because... the monotony and ease of closure are sometimes upsetting.

Another unique feature of the game is dynamic world events. After all, what could be better than to take part in such an event and protect Telara from the invasion of enemies after having already completed enough farming? At such moments, the entire server stands up to protect the location, otherwise irreparable things can happen. And there is one small BUT... For some reason I saw few people at these events. Perhaps this is again due to my small level, but I was running around and fulfilling my great mission in the company of three people, and we did not meet anyone else.

In addition to standard game processes,

there is also a collective element. These are artifacts. While completing tasks, farming things and collecting resources for crafting, you can also collect artifacts. If you see a green sparkling pebble, then immediately run to it and pick it up! There are many collections of artifacts in the game that can be collected, and for each of them you can get a certain gift. So to speak, we combine business with pleasure. If you decide to take this seriously, don't forget to stock up on good music J

After playing this game for two weeks, I decided to buy both the game and pay for the subscription, even though I was usually based on the “not a penny per pixel” principle. So it caught my adventure-hungry soul. And I also advise others to try it. I am sure that among you there will also be those who will appreciate this game in all its parameters.

The Western MMORPG is coming, for the first time since its grandfather “Warcraft”. “Rift” is a well-thought-out and verified fantasy game with a client from Western marketers.

These same rifts appear in any location, suddenly, from tiny portals to gates that can clear the level.

It’s trivial to go into a location, and there’s Hell, NPCs are crowded, there’s no one to take quests from, it’s impossible to advance in less than three.

It’s a great idea and the whole game is balanced on this PvE component.

Rift - soul system

There are few classes and at first you want to spit, but having understood what’s going on, all that remains is to praise the developers - the shower system was created and implemented simply luxuriously.

There are a total of 66 talent points, at the maximum level, and the most “charged” soul or skill tree requires 51 points, in fact this provides a huge field for compilations and experiments.

  • Or unlock multiple souls by taking their base abilities.

Pure fighter, solo support, healer or duelist, created to defeat only two specific fighters in PvP - everything is possible.

Naturally, a fighter has much more tanking abilities than a rogue, but both of them can be an average healer or support if they want or their play style requires it.

What’s also unusual is that there are “roles”, a set of three souls that can be installed with one click, before an important battle, according to your role.

PvP makes you sad, only in special locations and duels, but the exploration of the Rift world, chaotic portals and difficult dungeons for 20 participants evens out the situation.

The game is far from a “killer”, but a thoughtful and balanced project, with a great future, which can be included in the top 10 best MMORPGs.

“Rift” – everything is interesting, bright, epic and seamless, it creates the impression of integrity and makes you want to delve into the plot.

And a rift that suddenly appears in the middle of the city and an intriguing story makes you believe and experience the gameplay.
