Lever Action Rifle

A useful rifle, especially if you like to count shots fired in battle. The rate of fire is low, but it hits long distances and deals powerful damage to enemies. You can find it from random enemies (they can only drop the regular version), buy it from Allen in Far Harbor, or purchase it from Brooks.

You will have a huge chance to get a lever action rifle when you complete the Rite of Passage quest. When hunting bogmen, there is a high probability of dropping this weapon. Moreover, this will be the legendary version, and not the usual one, as described above. The characteristics are much better than the standard one. Enemies will crawl in crowds from the most powerful bullets.

Striker

A unique weapon, because he will shoot bowling balls. Many people consider such an implementation useless, but it does a lot of damage. The shooting range is short, but it hits monsters well. It's especially good to shoot into a crowd. You can find him at the Central Bowling Club "Beaver Creek". It is located in the southwest of Far Harbor. There is a huge sign painted on the building, you won’t confuse it with anything. Once inside, pay attention to the left edge of the hall - there is a huge hole in the wall. Enter there, immediately turning right. There in front of you there will be a generator, and behind it a small staircase. She leads you to the office of one of the club's main managers. The same Stryker will be lying on his table.

December's Child

A very good semi-automatic rifle that has a high rate of fire and instant reload. There are two firing modes: firing in bursts and firing one bullet at a time with one pull of the trigger. You can get it at the end of a difficult quest called “Better Left Forgotten...” In this quest you will need to find the secret DiMA laboratory. Having found the storage, you will certainly come across a terminal, there is only one there. Turn it on and pass the security check. Having received it, you will be able to enter the room that was under lock and key. If you can’t do this, then take Valentine with you, he can help open the doors. The rifle is located in the middle of the room on a huge chest, it will be hard not to notice.

Atom's Judgment

A powerful weapon that is intended only for close combat. It is a kind of radioactive hammer that incinerates any fierce enemy with one blow. You can only get it for completing the “Heretic” quest. There is also the opportunity to purchase from Richter in Nucleus. He lives near the top of the famous submarine.

Bloodletter

The weapon is a long hook on a sharpened stick. It doesn't look particularly scary, but it can cause serious injuries. You can receive it as a reward for completing the “Bloody Wave” quest. To do this, you should talk to Cassie Dalton in Far Harbor, he will give you this task.

Kiloton Radium Rifle

It is rightfully considered one of the best weapons in Far Harbor. It is a semi-automatic rifle that shoots bullets that will not only explode when hitting the target, but also “sting” the body with radiation. The attacker will receive not only pure damage, but also, if he survives, the radiation will definitely finish him off. The accuracy of the weapon leaves much to be desired, but the magazine is huge, enough for everyone.

You can purchase such a semi-automatic device from Kane at the Children of the Atom base. Don't think that you have to complete a lot of quests for this. Kane's shop is located right next to the submarine.

Harvester

Do you remember the small saws from the original Fallout 4? This weapon can be considered similar, only you still have the ability to stun the enemy at high speed.

You can find it in an abandoned store in the southwestern part of the map. The store is called Echo Lake Lumber.

You will see this building by its red roof, enter it. There will be a ladder in front of you that you should climb. Be careful, the stairs are rickety and have many old holes and cracks. At the end of the corridor you will find a red chest, our Reaper will be in it.

Butcher's Hook

Crude, but effective. Thanks to it, you can fill all action points after a critical hit. With detailed planning and good gloves, you can make a solid combo. You can purchase it from the super mutant merchant who lives in the center of the map. Remember where plane 1207 crashed (southwest of Far Harbor). Get on the plane, a mutant merchant is already waiting for you. Don't attack him, he will offer you a weapon.

First of all, the main character in the largest and most exciting addition, Far Harbor for Fallout 4, appears on an island where the radiation is simply off scale. This characteristic is the main difference from all other Fallout 4 locations. Now we are waiting for new quests and tasks, new landscapes and territories, locations, as well as new monsters.

Location

The incredible Far Harbor is located in a state called Maine, and the simulated settlement took its origins from the already existing settlement of Bar Harbor. The region is located in the north, harsh climatic conditions prevail, which do not allow a comfortable stay in this area. Nick Valentine offers you a new case, in which all ends go to Far Harbor. After arriving on the island, it turns out that more than one secret is hidden here. This addition provides an analysis of Detective Nick's past, and you can also learn a lot about synths.

Settlers

The huge island is home to fishermen along the coast. The Children of the Atom and a small colony of synths settled in the mountains. Synths are essentially calm and kind, but the other two factions managed to start a war among themselves. Adding to the conflict on the island is a deadly radioactive fog that has led to the mass mutation of animals into monsters.

The settlers who settled on the coast use a special device that protects them from radiation fog. This technology accompanies the clearing of the territory for the further construction of a settlement. But in order to use the new technology, you will need to make friends with the residents of Far Harbor. This task is not at all easy, because the severity of these places has made their inhabitants severely moral.

You can rest assured that one of your companions may try himself as your friend or companion. His name is Longfellow. The guy works in a local bar, and also knows his way around the area well. Upon arrival on the island, the first words you will hear from Longfell are the words about escaping from this island. After all, the guy believes that you are not ready for the horror that has shrouded this island.

Factions

The Children of Atom faction is located in a basement base, it seems that submarines were previously stored there. The main task of the group is to win over as many minds as possible who will honor their religion. This task is increasingly fueling hostility between groups. Of course, the main character has his own storyline, quests, tasks with groups. Different and separate tasks will come from different factions.

The main character will have to choose trust. The development of the storyline depends on the choice of the faction of the main character in Fallout 4 Far Harbor. The creators of the game promise that as you progress through the storyline, you can change the course of events by making different decisions. Irreversibility will only affect the killing of characters, because it will not be possible to resurrect them. The ending depends entirely on the decisions made to resolve the storyline.

This approach to building a storyline is a distinguishing feature from other games. After all, at a time when what happens depends on your choice, you need to carefully think through your every step. The player feels responsible for his decisions, and also has the opportunity to replay the episode again, making some changes he needs.

What's new?

The mysterious atmosphere of the Far Harbor area is reminiscent of the works of Stephen King. Todd Howard and company are proud of their world, because not everyone can boast of this comparison. The territory itself is terrible and only evokes a feeling of fear and danger. You can wander around the area for hours, expecting danger and anxiety at every step.

In the vastness of the Fallout 4 Far Harbor universe, new, terrifying monsters await you. This is not surprising, because in the vastness of the island, radiation is several times higher than anywhere else in the entire Fallout 4 universe. Also, do not forget about the danger from sea mutants. You can give an example with a fog lamp. This monster is much larger than the Death Claw, having two healthy claws. but the swallowers wait for a special moment of surprise before attacking the victim. The angler fish camouflages itself on the water, turning into a flower sticking out from under the water, thereby luring its prey.

Far Harbor- is the third official addition to the game Fallout 4. Far Harbor can be translated into Russian as “Far Harbor“, this addition pleased the players with its excellent plot, many quests, a new location and other pleasant surprises from the developers. Addition Far harbor was published on May 19, 2016.

The article turned out to be simply huge, like the addition itself, so for convenience, use summary :

For some readers, it’s probably worth saying what it is DLC. This abbreviation stands for Downloadable Legal Content, that is, this is official content from the developers, roughly speaking, a continuation or addition to the game. It may or may not be paid.

Description of DLC Far Harbor

If some players, after the release of the first two dlcs for Fallout 4, had grievances towards the Arbor, then after the release of Far Harbor all these grievances instantly transformed into admiration. It was in Far Harbor that the developers outdid themselves; many say that this add-on can be released as a full-fledged game, it is so huge.

Far Harbor Plot

In addition Far Harbor, The main character will have to work as a detective, because a man will come to Nick Valentine's detective agency and ask him to find his missing daughter. It is by taking up this matter that the main character opens the Far Harbor storyline.

Already at the very beginning of the search, the main character learns that the girl she is looking for has gone north, to the city of Far Harbor, located on the island, in search of a mysterious colony of synths, to which she also considers herself, despite her parents’ assurances that she is a human.

The main character will have to follow her to this city of Far Harbor, and there the main character will find himself in the center of a brewing conflict between residents, synths and fanatics of the Children of the Atom church. What way out will the main character find? Which of the warring parties will have to cease to exist? Is it possible to resolve the conflict peacefully? It is these questions that our main character will help answer during the storyline of the Far Harbor add-on.

Main locations in the Far Harbor DLC

  1. Azalea - this location can be found in the eastern part of the island, it is a container ship that has run aground, on which a gang of trappers lives. Many in the city have thoughts that the metal from this container ship can be used for the needs of the city, so the main character may be sent there on a mission;
  2. Acadia - this location is a secret colony of synths, which was found by the runaway girl Kasumi. The colony itself is located on the mountain, in the observatory building;
  3. Cinema "Paradise" - this location is an ordinary open-air cinema, it is interesting only because a lot of ghouls watch movies in it;
  4. Grand Hotel Harbor - before the Great War, all tourists who came to the island stayed in this hotel. After the war, the hotel was chosen by super mutants and now they live there, and there are a lot of them living there;
  5. Cranberry Island is a very interesting location that is worth exploring thoroughly; apparently, not all the secrets of this location have been revealed at the moment. This location is interesting because it is where Eliza lives. It is the same Eliza, parts of whose diary are scattered throughout the island;
  6. The core is an important location for the game's storyline. The core is a former submarine base, which the Children of the Atom community turned into their base;
  7. Island of the Red Death - this location is interesting only during the side quest “The Great Hunt”, because it is on this island that you can find the Red Swamp, a new, dangerously deadly creature;
  8. Vault 118 is an interesting location with a lot of strong robots, it’s worth going to see the layout and interior of the shelter;
  9. Lemonade factory "Vim!" — there are a lot of super mutants in this location; without knowing it, they are natural guards for the secret laboratory;
  10. DiMA's cache is an important location for the game's plot, located in the west of the island and is a small island in the lake where DiM hid the code for the wind turbine;

New weapons

  • Harpoon launcher- a heavy cannon that fires harpoons. A reload is required after each shot, and each hit causes the target to bleed. In terms of damage, the harpoon launcher can be compared to a Gaus rifle. It is very popular, so it is not difficult to find it on the island;
  • meat hook- bladed weapons, used by many bandits on the island;
  • Radium carbine - unique weapons that can only be found on the island. It is a carbine converted to chamber 45 and fires radioactive ammunition, resulting in double damage from the bullet and from radiation. Widespread on the island;
  • Reaper- This weapon is a type of ripper, this weapon has the ability to stun the enemy. Damage and other characteristics are not particularly impressive;
  • Striker— probably this weapon is more for fun, because Striker is a Fat Man that can be loaded with bowling balls. You can find this gun in the bowling center;
  • Atomic justice - a unique hammer with amazing characteristics, just imagine, Atomic Justice deals 240 points of damage and, as a bonus, takes away another 400 points of damage from the target using radiation. You can get it after successfully completing the side quest “The Heretic” for the Children of Atom;
  • Child of December- This is a regular assault rifle, converted to the 5.56 cartridge; in addition, this rifle has an increased firing rate by 1/4 and a reduced reload time. You can find it at the Vim Lemonade Factory;

New mutants and creatures

In the Far Harbor DLC, the developers did a good job and provided many new creatures, read about the most interesting of them below:

  • Bloodthirsty Swamper - the same as a regular swamp, only a little stronger;
  • Red Death- a unique and very dangerous swamper, his very appearance inspires horror, there are even legends that this swamper sank ships passing by his island. This is a very serious opponent;
  • Wolf- hefty and dangerous creatures, still resembling their ancestors in appearance;
  • bear- surprisingly, this is not even a mutant, but an ordinary gray wolf, which was tamed by super mutants; this wolf can be bought and placed in any of your settlements. The bear gives +8 to the defense of the settlement;
  • Gracie— just like the Bear, it can be purchased to protect a settlement, bringing +10 to the defense of the settlement;
  • Deepthroat— a wild creature, a huge mutated salamander, can attack from trees, or maybe from under water;
  • Radrabbit- this mutant looks like an ordinary rabbit with lichen;
  • Rad chicken- a funny mutant, in appearance it is an ordinary chicken that is missing all its feathers. She doesn't know how to attack, so she simply runs away from the main character;
  • Rad deer— the developers were clearly inspired to create this mutant by a brahmin, just like the rad deer has 2 heads, each of which has antlers;
  • Fog- It’s better to see this creature once than to talk about it a hundred times. This mutant probably turned out to be due to a mutation of an ordinary crab, only at the end, besides the many limbs, it is difficult to understand what is there from the crab;
  • Anglerfish- a terrible creature that lives near swamps and ponds. From the outside it looks like a victim of a vicious relationship between a toad and a monkfish.

Main quests in Far Harbor

  • Quest “Far from Home” — during this quest, the main character, along with Nick Valentine, take on the mysterious case of fisherman Kenji Nakano. The fact is that his daughter Kasumi has disappeared and concerned parents are asking to find her. Having begun the investigation, it becomes clear to the detectives that Kasumi went to the distant city of Far Harbor in search of some kind of secret colony of synths. The fact is that Kasumi believes that she is also a synth, although her parents claim the opposite. The detectives must go to this city, which is located in the north, on a large island, and try to find Kasumi;
  • Quest “A Walk in the Park” - the father of the missing girl, takes the main character on his boat to the island. Upon arrival, they are met by the leaders of the city, they are greeted unkindly, but a sudden attack by raiders helps, the mayor of the city asks for help repelling this attack, in return he will answer all the questions of the protagonist;

  • Quest “Find your place” — the main character actually finds a colony of synths called Acadia. Once in the colony, he meets with its leader, a synth named DiMA. In the conversation, he confirms that Kasumi is with them and she is fine, the main character is even allowed to meet with her. When they meet, Kasumi excitedly tells the main character that she really turned out to be a synth and that Acadia has many secrets, which she offers to reveal to our detective. One of these secrets is that the synths gave the Children of Atom a submarine base, which became the base of the Children of Atom, and along with the base they received part of DiMA's memories. As a result, Kasumi decides to stay in Acadia to reveal all their secrets, and the main character promises to help her with this.

  • Quest “It’s better not to remember” — in this quest, the main character gets to know the Children of the Atom better by visiting their “Core” base. At the base, our protagonist will gain access to DiMA's memories and learn many of his secrets, which we need to learn more about by going to the indicated locations. This quest is quite large and contains many puzzles and dangerous enemies;
  • Quest “What life should be like” - in this quest we will learn the terrible secret of DiMA, for this we will need to find an unmarked grave, in it you will find the body of Avery, and that Avery who met the main character on the pier. It turns out that in order for the townspeople to be more loyal to synths, they needed someone among the people who would treat synths demonstrably well. To do this, DiMA introduced his agent into the townspeople, he killed Avery and replaced her with a synth. Having learned this, the main character must decide what to do next:
    • Blame DiMA;
    • Tell everything to the city residents;
    • Talk to Kasumi;
  • Quest “Cleansing the Earth” — during this quest, the main character can destroy the base of the children of Atom using the surviving missiles;
  • Quest "Reformation" - during this quest, the main character, with the help of DiMA, must replace the head of the Children of Atom with his synth double, this will protect the inhabitants of the island and Acadia from the Children of Atom;
  • Quest “Family Affair” - is the final quest of the Far Harbor add-on. As the storyline progresses, Kasumi may die, but she may also survive. In the first case, we tell this sad news to our parents, and in the second, we persuade Kasumi to return home and at the family reunion it is better to keep silent about the fact that Kasumi is a synth. All that remains is to collect the reward.

Possible storyline endings

As mentioned above, the main character finds himself in the center of a conflict between synths, townspeople and fanatics; you can get out of this situation in different ways, for example:

  1. Good ending- having learned that DiMA replaced Avery among the townspeople, we agree to do the same with the head of the Children of Atom, then the townspeople, synths and fanatics will live in peace, essentially controlled by synths;
  2. Evil ending 1- first we destroy the Core base, launching missiles from it, after that we tell the townspeople about the synths and how they replaced their leader, the townspeople are furious and go to destroy Acadia. After the destruction of Acadia, the windmills can be turned off and the fog will destroy the townspeople;
  3. Evil ending 2- again, we’ll start by destroying the fanatics, after that, with the help of synths, we’ll destroy the inhabitants of the city, and upon returning to the territory of the Commonwealth, we’ll tell about Acadia or the Brotherhood of Steel or the Institute, they will finish the dirty deed for us;

    As you already understand, when playing through Fallout 4 Far Harbor you are given many different options for passing the game and many branches in the scenario. That is, all actions can really lead to several fundamentally different endings, and we will try to tell you how exactly Fallout 4 Far Harbor can end.

    Your choice, in the end, can lead to the complete destruction of all the inhabitants of the island, as well as to the fact that peace will reign on the island between all factions. Also, you can destroy each faction individually and give the surviving factions huge advantages.

    The decisions you make during the missions “What Life Should Be” and “Cleansing the Earth” will determine not only the fate of the synths, Far Harbor and the Children of the Atom, but also specific game personalities such as Dima, Avery, Tekta and Kasumi . Also, the receipt of some bonuses, as well as the specific outcome of the game, will depend on your specific decision.

    We have collected for you all the endings in the Fallout 4 Far Harbor add-on, and specifically, the key events that will affect the distribution of forces at the end of the game and further life on the island. We would like to remind you that as you progress through the game, you will be able to take a specific side or one of the sides.

    Peaceful ending

    The Reformation mission is suitable for those who prefer a peaceful ending to the game. This mission will be available to you if, in the quest “What Life Should Be,” you tell Dima about Captain Avery, who is the leader of the Far Harbor settlement, and emphasizes that Dima can deal fairly with the Supreme Confessor of the Children of the Atom. In this case, after completing the “Reformation” mission, peace will reign on the entire island. Under these conditions, Dima will be able to control what is happening on the island with the help of his people. You will also receive the “Defender of Acadia” perk.

    Devastating ending

    Also, as we said in the previous part, the game also has an ending in which none of the factions survives. No chance will play a role here, here all actions will be done consciously and you will be fully aware that all life on this island will be destroyed. That is, there will be no one to blame for this. To be honest, this turn of events will be completely meaningless and will give you absolutely no advantage. What advantages can we talk about when you are left all alone on an unfortunate piece of land?!

    In this option, you will need to first destroy the Children of Atom. To do this, you will need to use the key to launch missiles from the submarine of the Supreme Confessor of the Children of the Atom. Next, you will need to destroy Far Harbor. To do this, you will need to turn off the fans that protect the settlement from the deadly fog. You can get the code to turn off the fans during the mission “It’s better not to remember” and after that go to the task “Cleansing the Earth”. And finally, you will need to deal with the synths. To do this, you will need to go to the Commonwealth and tell the Institute about the location of Acadia, or the Brotherhood of Steel, it all depends on which side you were on at the end of Fallout 4. Also, you can deal with Acadia with the help of the inhabitants of Far- Harbor, but for this, they will need to be left alive.

    With these options you can destroy factions selectively. Depending on the decisions you make, certain settlements will be destroyed.

    Destruction of Far Harbor and its citizens

    In the mission "Cleansing the Earth", you will need to infiltrate the wind power plant building. At terminal 03 you will need to select Tempest, which will give you the option to turn off the capacitors. To carry out this action, you must have a code in your hands, which you could get during the mission “It’s better not to remember.” After you destroy Far Harbor, you will receive the Atom Inquisitor perk from Tect, as well as the Atom Bastion armor. And as a bonus you will receive the “Cleansing the Earth” achievement.

    Destruction of the Core and Children of the Atom

    If you choose the Far Harbor side, you will have the opportunity to destroy the Core and all the Children of the Atom with it in the mission “Cleansing the Earth”. To do this, you will need to sneak into Tekt's house in a submarine and use the missile launch key in it. The core will be completely destroyed, and the Children of the Atom on this island will remain history. You will also be given the “Far Harbor Resident” perk, as well as the “Cleansing the Land” achievement, as was the case in the first case.

    Destruction of Acadia and the synths

    If synths infuriate you with their sense of self-importance, then you can deal with them too. To do this, you will be given several options. The first option, in the mission “What Life Should Be,” tells the residents of Far Harbor about the substitution that Dima made at one time. Residents of Far Harbor certainly won't be happy about this. The second option is to go to the Commonwealth and tell the Institute or the Brotherhood of Steel (it all depends on which faction you chose in the original Fallout 4 game) about the synths. For destroying Acadia, you will receive the "Lucky Eddie" sniper rifle, as well as the "Acadia's Bane" perk. In addition, you will receive the achievement "The Way Life Should Be."

    Kasumi's fate

    Also, don’t forget about why we came here. For Kasumi to return home, she must at least remain alive. If you decide that Acadia must die, then Kasumi will die with her, which will block the completion of the mission "Close to Home". So if you decide to finish this quest and send the girl home, then you need to choose a peaceful solution, or choose an ending in which Acadia does not suffer. All in your hands.

    Indeed, having become acquainted with such a phenomenon as Fallout 4 Far Harbor, one comes to the understanding that DLC is not a useless thing and that this thing is worth paying attention to. The storyline, the presence of intrigue and other elements that make us worry and sometimes start going through these additions all over again. In addition, the presence of various additional quests and a serious branch in the storyline, each playthrough of the game may not be similar to each other and you will have to go through a new game every time. So we can safely say that Fallout 4 Far Harbor is not only Bethesda's biggest addition to Fallout 4, but also one of the most interesting.
