Program for lg firmware. Installing official firmware on LG G2. Updating the official software and restoring the “brick”

KDZ - flasher for LG. If your smartphone does not want to boot normally, works poorly or does not work at all, you should try flashing it. Fortunately, almost all LG Android devices are flashed the same way. You can do this either using the KDZ utility or through the official LG Mobile Support Tool. We will now describe the sequence of actions.

This instruction applies only to GSM devices. The CDMA firmware has not been tested against it. The method has some dangers. If a failure occurs during KDZ operation at the time of bootloader recording, only a service center can restore the device. We recommend choosing a good cable in advance, charging the battery in the laptop, disabling antiviruses and turning off other programs. It is better to use the cable that came with the device and place it in the rear socket of the computer. There may be a lack of power through the hub.

Warning - The administration is not responsible for the actions you perform with the device. This material is provided for recommendation purposes and not as a guide to action.

Preparation

To get ready for work, you need to download several files:

  • The official firmware itself in .KDZ format

Install all the drivers one by one and just in case, LG Mobile Support Tool. You will need it if the drivers are not installed (read in the last part of the article), for the usual update of the official firmware and restoration of the brick. Unzip the KDZ folder to the root of the system disk. Place the firmware next to it.

In KDZ you need to find and install the msxml.msi package using the standard method.

Now we put the phone into firmware mode. To do this, completely turn off the device or disconnect the battery. If it is not removable, press and hold the power button until the screen goes dark and the device vibrates twice.

Hold down BOTH volume buttons and power button. After a few seconds, a yellow image with a caption will appear. Emergency Mode.

Now we connect the device to the PC and check if the drivers are installed.

If everything is fine, let's move on to the firmware. No - we restart the computer, try another port, cable. Without drivers, the firmware will not start! You can also try downloading them using the LG Mobile Support Tool. Read about it below.

Firmware

Drivers are installed. The phone is visible. It's time to launch KDZ. Go to the folder with the installed flasher and, as an administrator, open KDZ_FW_UPD.exe. If it doesn't work, right-click on the file and set it to compatibility with Windows XP SP3. Flashing on Windows 8, 10 is not recommended. For your own safety, find a computer with Windows 7.

The KDZ start screen looks like this. Set the values circled correctly.

Now you need to select the firmware itself using this button.

Click Launch Software Update and wait. The utility may hang; the process sometimes lasts more than half an hour. It's better not to touch anything. Then progress bars will run across the screen, and you will see the treasured message about the completion of the firmware FINISHED. KDZ sometimes behaves erratically. In our case, she flew out immediately after the procedure was completed. Because of this, the image is different.

The phone will reboot itself and begin charging. Disconnect it from the cable, reconnect the battery and turn it on by holding the " nutrition" If the device does not work, try entering it again Emergency Mode and stitch 2-3 more times. Sometimes the utility also helps restore work LG Mobile Support Tool.

Updating the official software and restoring the “brick”

Nobody forbids you to try the official software update utility. It happens that it helps to cope with particularly obstinate devices. Open LG Mobile Support Tool

Click " install USB driver", mark your model and wait until everything is downloaded and installed.

Connect the device. If it is in working order, but there are no official firmware updates, the program will write about it.

When the column " start updating» is active, try selecting it and following the program instructions. Everything is simple and clear there. There is only one minus - LG Mobile Support Tool It takes a very long time to download the firmware. Don't expect a quick solution to the problem.

We hope everything worked out for you. Good luck with the firmware!

How to flash LG?

LG produces many popular smartphones running on the Android operating system. It offers the user a wide range of devices, among which everyone can choose an excellent option, both technologically and financially. But it’s worth considering that smart phones are much more likely to suffer from various “glitches” and software errors compared to simpler models.

In order to restore the functionality of a smartphone that has begun to work incorrectly or slow down, a flashing is necessary. This procedure allows you to download and install a working version of the software on your smartphone. In addition, this operation is necessary before going to the service center if, while using the device, you made any modifications to the system files or gained root access.

It is worth noting that there are a lot of unofficial firmware for LG smartphones. They can significantly expand the functionality of the device, as well as increase its performance. But their use can also lead to unpredictable behavior of the smartphone: sudden application crashes, reboots, overheating, etc.

To learn more about the capabilities of your gadget, read the articles in the section.

How to flash an LG smartphone using a computer?

Before flashing your device, try to get rid of the problem by completely resetting your smartphone. For this:

  1. Turn off the device;
  2. Press the volume down (or up, depending on the device model) button and the power button at the same time;
  3. After the image appears on the display, release the buttons;
  4. Now use the volume buttons to navigate to “Hard Reset” and briefly press the power button;
  5. Next, confirm the complete reset of the device by clicking on “Yes”.

Don't forget to make a backup copy of your data before resetting your device or flashing it. To do this, you need to copy all files from the internal storage and memory card of your smartphone to your computer, and also enable synchronization of your device with your Google account in the settings.

If you want any other simple phone that does not run on Android, this method will not work.

Hello! If you have come to this page, then most likely you are interested in the question of how to update the firmware on your TV. You've come to the right place. In this article I will tell you and show you with screenshots how to update the firmware on an LG TV (Smart TV). I think this manual will work for all LG TVs.

I will show the example of the LG 32LN575U model. I have already updated the firmware on this TV twice. Moreover, in two different ways: the first time directly, via the Internet. And the second time from a USB flash drive.

To make our instructions clear, we will divide it into three parts:

  • Preparing for a firmware update.
  • Update software on LG TV directly via the Internet.
  • Firmware update on LG (Smart TV) from a USB flash drive.

It seems to me that it will be convenient and understandable. Yes, and I won’t get confused :)

Preparing to update the firmware on your TV

At this stage, we need to learn and understand two things.

We need to find out the model of our TV. But, if you update the firmware directly, via the Internet, this is not necessary. If you update from a flash drive, then you need to find out the exact model. And the best thing is to watch it in the TV settings. And at the same time, we will look at the current version of our firmware.

Press the button on the remote control SETTINGS.

In the menu, go to the tab Support, and select Inf. about the product/service.

A window will open in which we will see the TV model (mine is 32LN575U-ZE), and current firmware version (Software Version item).

You can leave these settings open for now, copy the model and current software version onto a piece of paper, or take a photo with your phone, as I would do :)

You must understand that the firmware (not only TV, but any device), this is serious. And you need to follow the instructions strictly so as not to turn your TV into a brick. Although no, some kind of brick from the TV, more like a concrete slab :)

Well, you understand, you can “kill” the TV if you don’t follow the instructions. During the firmware installation process, the TV will also have different safety instructions. Here are the main ones:

  • Do not turn off the TV while updating the firmware.
  • If you update from a flash drive, then make sure that the firmware that you download from the manufacturer’s website is for your model.
  • When the firmware process is in progress, do not remove the flash drive from the TV.
  • In general, it’s better not to press or touch anything.

Updating software on LG TV directly via the Internet

This is a very simple and convenient way. The main requirement is that your TV is connected to the Internet. To good, fast and preferably unlimited Internet. The TV itself will download the necessary software (software) and install it. I noticed that the firmware takes up an average of 500 MB. At least for model 32LN575U.

You can connect your TV to the Internet via Wi-Fi, more details in the article, or via a network cable.

If you have already connected the Internet to your TV, you can check for updates.

Press the button on the remote control again SETTINGS (screenshot at the beginning of the article) and go to the tab Support. Select an item Software Update.

We see the current software version there. For check (is there a new version), press the button Check for update.

If there is new software, a window will appear indicating the version. To start updates, just click on the button Update.

The download process will begin. You can hide it and continue, for example, watching TV. When the software is fully downloaded, the update process will begin. Then it’s better not to touch anything, the TV will turn itself off and on. That's it, the update process is complete. You can go to the settings again and make sure that you have a new version of the software.

If the TV is always connected to the Internet and the update is turned on, then if there is a new version of the software, a window will appear asking you to update the software.

Updating firmware on LG (Smart TV) from a USB flash drive

If it is not possible to update directly, then you can do everything from a flash drive. The essence of this method is to download the required firmware from the LG website, put it on a flash drive, connect the flash drive to the TV and start the update.

We need to know the exact model of the TV and the current version of the installed software. I wrote how to find out this information at the beginning of the article.

Download the firmware

We go to the site (mine is in Ukrainian, you may have everything in Russian). In the search bar, enter the model of our TV. In my case, it is 32LN575U. Click on the search button.

Our TV should appear in the results. Go to the tab at the top “Support”(support) and press the red button BY.

A list of firmware will appear. We download the newest one, it is usually at the very top. We look at the date of addition and the version. Make sure that the firmware on the website is newer than the one already installed on your TV. If it is newer, then click on the link and save the archive to your computer.

After the archive is completely downloaded, we proceed to preparing the flash drive.

Preparing the USB drive

I read somewhere that you need a clean flash drive. But I have a 16 GB flash drive and it was about half full of the necessary files. I was too lazy to put them on the computer and clean out the drive, so I flashed the TV from a flash drive that had other files. Everything worked out. But, if you don’t have anything important on your flash drive, or have another blank drive, then it’s better to take it.

Connect the flash drive to your computer, open it and create a folder called LG_DTV.

That's all, after the file is completely copied, our flash drive is completely ready.

Launching the update

We disconnect the drive from the computer and connect it to the TV. If everything was done correctly, a window should immediately appear with information that a drive with software is connected. The current software version and the one on the flash drive will be indicated. Also, read the recommendations.

To start the update, just click the button Execute (sorry for the photo quality).

The firmware process will begin. We don't touch anything.

The TV will turn itself off and on. The following window will appear:

This means that everything was successfully updated, the versions match. You can disconnect the drive from the TV.

If after updating the software, the TV starts to freeze, or other problems appear, it is recommended to initialize the application. This should help.

Go to the TV menu and go to the tab Support. Select item. Confirm execution by selecting Ok.

The TV should reboot itself.

Afterword

I hope I was able to prepare simple instructions according to which everything worked out for you.

The main thing is to do everything according to the instructions. If, for example, you notice that today the electricity often goes out (for example, a thunderstorm, or electricians are repairing something), then it’s better to postpone the software update until another day.

Best wishes!

We update the firmware on an LG TV (Smart TV) via the Internet or from a USB flash drive updated: February 7, 2018 by: admin

LG Mobile Support Tool is a completely free application for owners of LG mobile phones, designed to update the firmware of devices from the Korean manufacturer. Installing a more recent version of the software will make your device work faster and more stable, so we recommend that you always update the firmware in a timely manner.

To start the program, you need to connect your mobile phone to your computer using a USB cable. If the connection is not detected, try installing the USB driver. To do this, select the appropriate item in the LG Mobile Support Tool window, and also specify the phone model. Next, depending on the connected device, you will need to do one of the following:

  • In the "USB connection" panel, select "LG Software". Or go to the settings menu, select “USB Connection Mode”, and then select “LG Software”;
  • go to the settings menu, select the "SD card and phone memory" section, go to the "USB connection mode" item and uncheck the box next to "Data storage device";
  • select "Advanced features" in the Windows Mobile menu and go to "Windows Mobile Update".

The last option must be performed for devices running the Windows Mobile operating system. After performing all the necessary operations, LG Mobile Support Tool will check for firmware updates and install them automatically. After installation, you will need to restart your portable device.

Key Features and Functions

  • serves to update the firmware of LG mobile devices;
  • works with most existing models, including devices based on Windows Mobile;
  • allows you to install a USB driver, if necessary;
  • checks and updates software automatically;
  • available completely free of charge.

If your LG phone or tablet is unstable, freezes, slows down or does not open system applications, most likely it needs new firmware. This is analogous to an operating system. It determines what programs are installed on the device by default, what functions it has, what the interface and widgets look like. Gadget manufacturers often install their proprietary OS based on Android. But if you are somehow not satisfied with the standard LG firmware, you can change it.

There are official operating systems and custom ones. The latter were created by users. If Firmware is “amateur”, this does not mean that it is bad. Such utilities make the interface more convenient and responsive. They remove unnecessary functions and add necessary ones. Of course, the OS may not be suitable for your specific device or may not work correctly on it. But, if you are interested in the unofficial system, it is worth trying it.

Updating LG firmware is as easy as shelling pears :)

To install or reinstall Firmware, you will need special programs and the firmware itself. You can find it on the Internet. A large collection of custom and official OSs is available on the 4pda website. There is also a specialized resource lg-phone-firmware - there are systems for different device models.

Older phones may not support modern operating systems. After all, Firmware requires certain resources for stable operation. A device with 512 MB of RAM is unlikely to run Android 5.1.

Before flashing your LG device, do the following:

  • Save all important information from your gadget on another device or in cloud storage. It is better to create a backup copy of contacts, sms, call lists, photos, notes, videos. When installing Firmware, settings will be reset and all data will be erased.
  • Charge your device to at least 80%. And better - 100%. If the battery dies while reinstalling the OS, problems will arise with the device. It will be difficult to restore it.
  • Download drivers for LG devices (in particular, LGUnitedMobileDriver) to your computer if you want to flash your phone using a PC.
  • Find out the model of your gadget. This information is in the instructions and in the device parameters.
  • You must have a USB cable to connect your phone or tablet to your PC.

Firmware using a computer

KDZ Updater

Here is the first way to install Firmware:

Smart Flash Tool

There is another program with which you can reinstall the operating system on your phone. This is Smart Flash Tool. It is suitable for older models.

Firmware without a computer

Zip archive with firmware

To flash a device without connecting to a PC, Clockworkmod Recovery must be available on the mobile device - this is “recovery mode”. You also need a memory card on which the archive with the OS will “fit.”

  1. To enable Recovery, you need to download the Rom Manager program from the Play Market. To use it, you need Root rights. They can be obtained using special utilities. For example, Kingo Root, Framaroot, GingerBreak are suitable. Some of them are launched from the computer, some are installed on the phone.
  2. Launch Rom Manager on your smartphone or tablet.
  3. Find the “Recovery Setup” menu there and open it.
  4. Confirm the action by clicking on “Clockworkmod Recovery”.
  5. In the next window, select your phone model. And confirm the action again.
  6. Give the utility root rights. The installation will begin.
  7. After that, you will be able to enter this mode through Rom Manager if you click “Load Recovery”.

It’s easier to install Firmware that already has the necessary options, and then write what you need “on top” of it.

With the debugging mode running, you can begin installing the OS.

  1. You need special firmware in .zip format. The instructions for it should indicate that it is activated through Recovery mode.
  2. Copy the archive from the OS to the memory card of your LG device.
  3. Reboot it into Recovery. A menu will appear.
  4. To make a backup of your current system, click “Backup and restore”. Next, select “Backup to / sdcard”. The data will be copied to the SD card.
  5. To reset, click “Wipe data/factory reset” and confirm “Yes”.
  6. To install Firmware, go to “Install zip from sdcard”.
  7. Select the firmware file and click “Yes”. Wait for the installation to complete.
  8. Tap “Reboot system now” and enjoy the new OS.

Mobile Odin Pro

Mobile application for quick installation of Firmware. No PC connection required. Suitable for three-file firmware. Usually their names include CODE, CSC, Modem.

  1. Move them to your memory card.
  2. Launch Mobile Odin Pro on your phone or tablet.
  3. Click “Open file”, select a file that has the word “CODE” in its name and click “OK”.
  4. Open the “Modem” menu, add a file with “Modem” in its name and confirm the action.
  5. Click "Flash Firmware". Installation may take a long time.

With this program, downloading single-file firmware is also available. They are in .tar or .tar.md5 format.

  1. Copy the Firmware to the memory card.
  2. Open Mobile Odin Pro.
  3. Click “Open file” and specify the path to the tar file.
  4. After this, you can begin the installation.

There are many options for flashing a phone or tablet. Firmware must be selected according to the device model. It is better not to try to install an OS that is definitely not suitable for your gadget.
